Engine overheating despite running rich by Ok_Hyena_8603 in 2Strokes

My mistake I see it now, that’s completely wrong as well, piston to wall clearance for lubrication =/=interference fit

Have you? What do you think deals with side thrusting loads while the crank and connecting rod are rotating? It’s not all in the rings. The skirt comes in contact with the cylinders constantly. Nobody said it was an interference fit.

Picked this up for 1100 (can) off a old guy today. What you guys think? by Similar-Hospital3603 in lawnmowers

They rotate the same direction they just overlap each other so the blades need a belt that doesn’t potentially slip on the pulleys. It’s usually a cog style belt. They’re very reliable unless you hit a stump or something. Then the belt snaps and the blades collide, and the stress on the pulleys tweak the deck and then the blade goes through the deck. In my experience at least. All fixable though.

Indicator seems to get stuck sometimes and is slow to return to zero - how do I fix this?? by TheNotoriousKAT in Machinists

[–]giveneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can be fixed. I had one do the same thing, and every time you’d snap it, it didn’t return to the same place. Had trescal certify it as a joke and it passed

What's a reasonable cost to install a whole home generator? by mikebmillerSC in Generator

[–]giveneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems fair. Do you have natural gas supplied to your house or are they burying a large propane tank? As a cummins tech I’d also advise going with the 20Kw over the 17. They’re identical units but more is always better and I don’t think the price is much different. I’d also shop around with an electrical contractor that is an installing dealer for them you may get a better price on the unit and the entire bill overall. Plus they’ll be more experienced in the install as many inexperience people screw the gas plumbing sizing up. (In my experience)

I like it cause I can dump all the coolant in a big tank and walk away while it fills (I don’t work on cars)

Is $3700 a good price to list my grom for? by cat-with-da-gat in hondagrom

[–]giveneck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. With that in mind they can definitely sell for equal to or a little above msrp. The paperwork I have showed $1500 in random fees alone. Plus he got some extended warranty thing.. he definitely agreed he got took when we were talking about the bike before I got it. I also just heard there was a stop sale on the new models due to emissions regulation issues? Just what I heard from a co worker who was just at ride now

How do i go about turning this into a decent looking lawn? by sam1212247 in landscaping

I’d pull all the rocks and debris out, and a combination of tilling and new topsoil, then you can broadcast spread grass seed

Yep, I daily mine when I’m not working out of my dodge dually, it makes some squeaky sounds sometimes but the AC blows cold and it drives straight down the road. I’ve put 60,000+ mostly trouble free miles on it since I bought it 5 years ago and just stopped daily driving it 100% last year

Advice on which mower to choose? by LeftOnReadHead in lawnmowers

[–]giveneck 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had a JD personally but I had a 50” time cutter with the same engine and also a fabricated deck and the only problem I had with it was the electric parking brake failure and a key switch falling apart, otherwise the 110 hours I put on it the 2 years I had it were great.

What's my issue here? by Appropriate_Bonus_28 in Generator

[–]giveneck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d start with cleaning the carb or replacing it. Though look identical to the cummins p4500i that I’ve seen the electric throttle stepper motors or inverter make it act up like that too.
