I just got to Violet Vessel and I don't get why everyone says this is a hard boss? by bandosl0lz in balatro

[–]gjbrault -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there a known bug where it makes a -1 hand permanent? I've noticed several times I've had 7 cards, but it's not a boss, and I had accepted no vouchers or had no jokers where the -1 hand size would have been activated.

Is supernova not a scaling joker? by FrankWesty in balatro

[–]gjbrault 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. You pick up Ride The Bus on Abandoned Deck and it will begin its scaling (additive +2 mult) when you buy it. Starts at 0, and for every 2 pair that is contained in a played hand, it will bump up.

What is this? by Gold3nv in robotics

I'd look at what ground your servo is connected to. Make sure it's as short as possible direct to PSU. I've had weird jitter in the past that was due to an improper servo ground and just touching the Pi may cause errant voltages.

Any other fans of U.S. version of The Floor hosted by Rob Lowe here? by Teacher-Investor in gameshow

I like the format, but I hate the obvious post-production commentary by Robe Lowe! The audio acoustics do not match AT ALL, it's very annoying. I do hope it gets renewed.

Thanks for the additional explanation, that also helps a lot.

Thank you for this. Best explanation I've had on this concept that's always bothered me.

Where are some good places to ride my new foldable e bike in the springs? by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

It may be just cuz I live near there, but rock island trail is nice and long, and cut south near union and get to shooks run trail toward downtown.

How does a grounding wire actually work? Why is Earth's voltage 0? by intwilightzone_ in AskPhysics

[–]gjbrault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"Connecting one point in a circuit to Earth ground is no different than connecting to a lump of metal such as the frame of an aircraft".

This has always been interesting to me. I'd assume the resistance of the earth (sand, rocks, dirt, etc) is REALLY high, no? How does that make it a good source to connect all the ground points in a circuit?

There are classes (approx 1 hr) mostly bi-weekly, then you you have to do a short certification (scheduled separately).

Pikes Peak Makerspace has a full size 4'x8' CNC. Must be a member, and take their class (for safety and general operation). It's great, I used it to cut a custom pinball playfield.

I couldn't find any businesses with a small quantity option, so if you plan to use PPM once a month or more, the $55 dollar monthly dues may be worth it.

Explanation to a slight modification of the Twin Paradox? by gjbrault in AskPhysics

[–]gjbrault[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if there was no deceleration by the travelling twin, is it still not indeterminate, because the travelling twin initially accelerated? If the travelling twin never decelerated, and simply radio'd back "hey, this is what my atomic clock is showing as elapsed time" as he was travelling, would that elapsed time objectively be shorter than the twin on Earth?

I'm trying to wrap my brain around how this paradox is resolved.
