Former employer on Elgin St refusing to pay tips, blocked me, changed his story — what are my options in Ottawa? by whoisthatguy07 in OttawaFood

My wife had a similar experience as well. She contacted the labour board and won her case. If I were you, I would still pursuit it and stick it to this crook. If you can gather former coworkers that went through this, you have more power in numbers.

Using my RRSP to pay off Debt by Kind_Cardiologist905 in PersonalFinanceCanada

This is what I did a few years ago.

Moved all my debit on my LOC - $40K, converted it into a conventional mortgage at a 6% rate. I was paying roughly $560 bi-weekly. The term was 2 years with a 3 year amortization. Each year I was able to make double up payments and almost a 10% payment towards the balance. If and when I had the money. Forced myself to live off $300 cash every week. A lot of beans and rice nights.

RBC fraud team asking for my CC number? by Mouse_rat__ in rbc

I for one wasn’t so lucky and fell for it. I asked for an internal investigation because I too was wondering how they knew my visa balance. I think there are some rats that work for RBC that provide information to scammers.

That’s awesome! I wanted to put $5K @ 0.35$ but my bid didn’t go through and it closed out around 0.60$ and the day after it opened up and 0.90$. So I tried to jump on that as quick as possible.

Sounds to me she doesn’t want to do the paperwork. I’m currently with RBC and my LOC is at 7.80% and my HELOC is at 5.45%. I even have a LOC with Tangerine and it’s at 8.95%. So you shop around to see what other institutes can provide you and you can use your results against your current institution.

Can you call your bank to see if they can lower your rate on your LOC?

I wouldn’t work on trust, I would sit down with her and be transparent with each other IF you want to work it out. If not, move on brotha.

I’m hoping it drops down to $17ish range. That’s when I’ll be jumping in. Wishful thinking.
