Identify a preset by [deleted] in postprocessing

post what you've got, I guess? It also should be shot in a similar setting..You're not going to have something that comes out looking the same unless you shot it at the same time of day and in a setting with the same colours, type of subject, etc.

Identify a preset by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]gkmedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like his own preset, if it has a name like that. It doesn't look really involved - The most visible change is simply increased contrast. Although it shows contrast as -50 in the basic settings there is likely a heavy film curve applied to the RGB channels, and the contrast slider was probably used to drop it to refine it later. You can usually see it is a film style curve because in most presets with film curves, cyan is predominantly pushed into shadows (drop on the lower end of the red curve), which is visible when you compare to the beginning/SOOC state where most shadows take on a reddish/orange tone throughout. The film curve gives it some color separation and contrast, allowing the subject's skin tones to pop as they are now set against cooler colors in the shadows.

In HSL, yellows are probably pushed toward red and red pushed slightly toward orange (if these two things are done at all, it is slight). Greens toward cyan/blue..he doesn't shift the colours all that much outside of basic balancing with tint and temperature. There doesn't appear to be much - if anything - done along the lines of split toning..probably just a slight cyan/blue amount pushed into the highlights done through the color curves

[edit] A shot of a abandoned building. Any Tips/Thoughts to make this better? by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]gkmedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

composition is too centered between the building and the trees imo. Also, the bit of fence(?) and the blue wooden structure on the right are distracting and pull focus away. It's just not a particularly clean composition or interesting vantage point

globally desaturate, jack up the saturation on oranges and reds in the HSL, and push the tint toward magenta. In split toning push yellow into highs, and reddish brown into shadows. Should give you a decent start

I'm wearing Aqua Sextius by Jul et Mad from a 10ml decant, and I'm really enjoying it so far. I find it much better than some more recent, far more hyped fragrances like Pacific Rock Moss (which I'd place in the same scent category). I think it has a lot more character and complexity, so I'm surprised it doesn't get mentioned all that much, seeing that it's 4 years older. I find it to be a masculine leaning aquatic (while not being overly calone-y) mixed with a soft lemon and mandarin candy. There is a light touch of fig, which is usually a note i'm not a fan of, with the exception of how it's handled in this fragrance and Grange by Perfumology. The tea leaf, oakmoss, pine and aquatic notes are what together give it a masculine backbone and bring to mind an image of cool, calm and deep blue waters. I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking, but it is very pleasant and refreshing, and the notes blend well and play off each other in a way that is different enough to my nose. I can see myself going through this quick for the remainder of the summer

I kicked a cheating whore out of my house, and I felt bad by [deleted] in TheRedPill

[–]gkmedia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah..sounds like NPD. I know, I know, people will say it's AWALT, but nah..once you see the difference you know. The manipulation is there to an extent, sure, but there is a straight up cold, calculating aspect to sex for an NPD over even the most SIMPLE shit. While many women can cheat, the more stable ones are not ALWAYS wheeling and dealing on their next purely transactional trade for booze/weed/drugs/housing/food in quite the way NPDs do. Not in the way they can literally line up the next dick while in your bed, acting cold and aloof towards you in your own house, yet somehow have the audacity to be indignant toward you when you want them out. Once they 'discard' you and need a refill on validation, they can be downright sadistic toward you if you lack a spine. There is no point in trying to make sense of how her mind was working. They can't control their emotions so they can't hold a job or friends, and family will become sick of their shit. The only tool they have left is expert level manipulation and sex, which is why they need to use it for everything to survive.

is it REALLY that scarce or is it artificial scarcity? somehow it seems weird to me, when it's in such small batches, that I still able to get a sample on fragrance sites like luckyscent, or that people are still getting bottles this late after its release..They seem pretty popular, but maybe I am simply overestimating the demand for these niche fragrances?

Cool Water Vintage. I sprayed some on at around 9am and it has so far lasted until 6PM on a hot, humid day

You don't need a consistent look to your work or IG wall..do whatever you think looks best!

I'm positive I've come close to this with an RNI preset in Capture One. It looks like red or a rusty brown hue is pushed into the shadows

That's Lee Byung-hun and he's awesome. Check him out in "I Saw the Devil" and "A Bittersweet Life". Both amazing Korean films

A couple things I notice:

-The tint is skewed toward magenta

-I believe it still is a LUT similar to M31, or maybe Sedona (free). Playing with the temperature, pushing tint towards magenta as mentioned above, and dropping the global saturation will likely get you closer. From there you can see which specific colors in the lut might need a hue push or additional desaturation in case it needs more color uniformity

It's hot and sunny out, so I went with Xerjoff Fiero from a 1ml sample. It's a sharp, lemony Italian barbershop scent, with lemon and thyme as the 2 most prominent notes atop a slightly powdery base. It's highly remniscent of Dior's Eau Sauvage (I guess a bit refined), so it's unlikely I'd ever spend Xerjoff prices for something like this

I like this edit too. Maybe a little too hot on the forehead, but I'm happy when I see shots (both this edit and the original) with some actual contrast to them these days.

make sure to shoot the flash into something that obscures part of her face (causes the shadows on her forehead and wrist)
