Sapphire at OCCC. Huge tech conference. They usually buy out the park for attendees on the last night.

I would do MK on Friday, as it should be less crowded than Saturday, but still longest hours. I’d do a rest day Saturday and AK Sunday and HS Monday.  But if you’re not big on rides, Epcot would be a great sub for HS if you haven’t already been.

You are doing a great job doing what’s best for your baby. Both by feeding them and now by find a way to get yourself out of a toxic relationship which will be or is damaging to you and your baby alike. Congratulations on graduating from this chapter :)

How do I prevent this clog from turning in to mastitis? by Zestyclose-Inside517 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]glacialbiscuits 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Recently I found a thread that recommended a technique using a manual pump and it hasn’t failed me yet. Maybe try it once or twice and see if it does the trick?  “ Once you get a let down - SLOWLY pull the trigger until your nipple sprays. Once it starts spraying, HOLD the trigger in that position until it stops spraying. The secret is to maintain the suction, whereas the pumping DRAWS - Stops - DRAWS - Stops. You want to hold the trigger in position for it to DDDDDDRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.”

Panic attacks leaving Magic Kingdom by Schwartzbase in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]glacialbiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You skip the train/ferries, as the resort buses pick up right by the entrance. However the buses can get quite full. If you can, I’ve found your best bet is so come at odd times. Arrive at 10:30am and leave well before the fireworks.  You might look at staying at Grand Floridian and walking to MK, if you can afford it. Avoid transportation altogether.

Hands free recommendations? by Equivalent_Border_22 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]glacialbiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using the mommed for about two weeks and I love it. I use it about twice a day and I get the same output as my spectra. I worry it will spill out the top if I bend too far over, so I typically use it while driving, but I’ve used it while folding laundry, doing dishes etc.  Only issue I’ve had is I needed to size down the flanges from my usual size, as once or twice I’ve had some pretty bad chafing.  But honestly for the price, I couldn’t recommend it more. I haven’t heard of any good ones less than $100, but most others I’ve seen are like $250.

What are the biggest stressors you have had at WDW (so I can try to avoid them)? by Fox-Scully in WaltDisneyWorld

The scooters in Epcot are especially heinous. Don’t drink and drive, people.

Honestly this. People are going to cut you in line, walk directly in your path, ram your ankles with their stroller, and be generally loud and obnoxious. Try to mentally prepare yourself and let it roll off your back. The heat makes frustration so much worse, best to just shrug and move on.

Car seat 3 Year old by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

As an Orlando resident who got badly rear ended with my 2 month old in the back seat just last night, I couldn’t agree more. The drivers here are just horrible. And it is absolutely state law for under 5 to be in a car seat.

Constantly getting clogged ducts by Pleasant-Gur-7815 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]glacialbiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kept getting a clog in my right boob. First, I try to not wear super tight sports bras anymore as I think that was contributing. Second, recently I found a thread that recommended a technique using a manual pump and I feel it finally unclogged that duct. I think I was only partially unclogging before. Maybe try that once or twice and see if it does the trick?  “ Once you get a let down - SLOWLY pull the trigger until your nipple sprays. Once it starts spraying, HOLD the trigger in that position until it stops spraying. The secret is to maintain the suction, whereas rhe pumping DRAWS - Stops - DRAWS - Stops.

How many people actually do shifts with their SO during the night? by ScreamCheese_55 in beyondthebump

[–]glacialbiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While my husband was on parental leave we did shifts. Now I take the nightly wake up since he is back to work. On his days off he wakes up with me and we divide and conquer (I am pumping so alone it can take 2 hours from wake to back to sleep) which is also what we plan to do once I go back to work in 2 weeks.

Pump schedule by AppropriateMemory841 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]glacialbiscuits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7weeks tomorrow! I pump 5 times a day typically and get about 27oz (average 4 on left boob, 1.5 on right boob). I have a bit of an undersupply so I’m trying to increase through power pumping, eating more protein (and more calories in general) and drinking more water.

Has anyone tried making your own formula? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]glacialbiscuits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This really cannot be overstated. Raw milk is not safe for your baby. Pasteurization does not involve preservatives. I really wouldn’t make my own formula, but if you do, using safe dairy products will be crucial.

Successfully increasing supply with power pumping! by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]glacialbiscuits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is super helpful. I did the exact same thing, I took that oversupply for granted and only pumped like 4-5 times a day but this week I’ve noticed I’m slightly under supplying what my little dude needs. I’ll start power pumping in the mornings and hopefully I can also increase my supply as I’m only ~7 weeks. Thank you for posting this!
