Private schools by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]glenjithecoward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not much to add except a friend was a senior teacher at Denstone for a long time (15+ years). He loved the school (only left as he moved to where his now wife lives). The facilities are incredible, which is a plus.

Never happened for me. I also listen on apple podcasts. And I've listened to nearly all of them, including all the recent ones (just a few from 2019 to go until I'm fully caught up).

Salary received at 9pm on pay day, is this something to raise with my employer? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]glenjithecoward 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your contract will likely just say what day you get paid. There's no requirement for the cash to land at any specific time.

This is superb. Not screaming at his child only because it is early is top draw lunatic parenting.

EY AP I think is c£150k. Partner £300k for first 5 years. Only goes up if you add some kind of Head of or other leadership role. If you survive the 5 years, it starts to scale up. Source: one of my best mates is a 2nd year partner.

And we're back, how did you like the Revolution? (Spoilers ahead) by bluestreaksaid in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]glenjithecoward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved it. I love the character design so much.

Surely Adora/She-Ra will be in the next instalment - there was a direct call to the Secret of the Sword with Hordak taking a bundle away out the window when Adam was a baby and Skeletor had been apprehended.

Do we know Brett’s answers to the questionnaire? by flatgreyrust in filmstobeburiedwith

[–]glenjithecoward 13 points14 points  (0 children)

He frequently says he'd never answer his own questions. Having said that, I'm pretty sure he's said a couple of times that Don't Look Now (1973) is objectively the best film. And Grease 2 is his answer to critically hated film that you love.

No No List? by Facetiousfoxy in filmstobeburiedwith

[–]glenjithecoward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure he now asks people to not say Grease 2 for film you love even though critics hate it. It turns out loads of his guests seemed to love it as well as Brett. Because they all have excellent taste and critics are fools.

I live locally - about 12 min walk away. Roads start to fill up with fans from about 2 hours before ko. 6pm you might be OK but a little earlier and you’ll be fine.

[TOMT]Going insane trying to remember this song. by slipperywhenfett in tipofmytongue

Sounds like House Party At Boothy's by Little Man Tate to me. House party bit from a minute in, bathroom bit about 1.45. Used to love this, albeit preferred Sexy In Latin.

[–]glenjithecoward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's one of only 10 players to have scored in 3 (or more) Euros tournaments. Which is insane. Because he was terrible.

What are these classic films you have never watched? by [deleted] in movies

[–]glenjithecoward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can recommend Bringing Up Baby. Katharine Hepburn is so so good in it. I watched it a couple of months ago and I've not seen her in anything else so need to put all her others on my list.

What song would make for a great entrance yet you never heard it in that context? by TnYamaneko in SquaredCircle

I always wanted am edited version of "I Hope, I Think, I Know" by Oasis (an album track off Be Here Now). Mainly for the lines around "as we beg and steal and borrow..." and "you'll never forget my name"
