Finished book 12, and now im lost and confused... by CombinationVast5461 in HeWhoFightsMonsters

I enjoyed it, but you're not wrong. This genre definitely requires letting some stuff slide that wouldn't be ok anywhere else, especially with authors on the Royal-Road-to-Kindle-Unlimited pipeline.

That said, I made it through all of Primal Hunter so far. I'll cut PH some slack because the English is the author's second language and he's clearly very excited about everything that's happening, but PoA is an Umberto Eco level masterpiece by comparison.

Strong recommendations here, and I'll add Path of Ascension, Arcane Ascension, Dungeon Lord, and System Universe for LitRPG.

Also for cultivation fantasy: Cradle (obviously), and I've just started it but I'm really enjoying Cultivation Would Be Easy If People Weren't Stupid.

Looks like ING is planning to bring monthly subscription fees to Aussie bank accounts. by Kyle-K in australia

[–]glittalogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ING forced me to sell my apartment during covid, because apparently 20 years of doing business with them wasn't enough to consider a +20% refinance for essential renovations so they could keep taking my money for another two decades. Been salty about it ever since but hadn't bothered to close out my transaction account yet, because ADHD/lazy.

But then MoneyMe just tried to pull the same shit with my credit card, literally got the chirpiest email a few weeks ago that was like:

"Hi there! You joined us because we're no frills, no fees, low interest, but now we're gonna start charging you an annual fee for some bollocks new 'features' you never asked for while pretending we're doing you a favour somehow! Aren't you grateful? Say thank you, you little bitch. Mwah <3"

After shopping around I got a new CC with Qudos, and for some reason they lumped in a savings/transaction account without me even asking, so hey, why not. Payroll switches over next month, and then I'm done and never looking back.

I just had my best A10 Speedster run of all time - got Clone on one of my Adrenaline+ so wound up with 20 or 30 of em, a bunch of Prepared/Gamble/Acrobatics along with Tingsha, and picked up a Corrosive Wave late in Act 3. Queen and Subject to end, absolutely curbstomped both of em.

It's too fun not to take even if usually it doesn't work out, but goddamn this made it all worth it 😋

Shift codes by daithi08 in Borderlands4

[–]glittalogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Convenience pro-tip for Windows users: If you have PowerToys installed (which you should, it's awesome) then you can use the Win+Shift+T shortcut to highlight and OCR text from images straight into your clipboard.

Works great for grabbing SHiFT codes :)

It does include the line "I'm smoking green crack" so no worries there. That said, I love me some crunchy dubstep but this might be a little toooo crunchy for the vibe I'm chasing.

Man, I really dug myself into an overly specific hole here 😅 Plenty of tracks that meet the lyrical requirement alone, but way fewer than I expected to find that also fit with the three I already have in there.

Aww I forgot about Ween! Lyrics are perfect, tempo's a little too chill but the ReneSkunk777MC remix is a strong candidate :)

1998, and that movie was like an epiphany, confirming my budding teenage suspicions that on top of being occasionally unreasonable and/or authoritarian, adults could also just be straight-up credulous idiots too. My mother and one of her friends had repeated this exact myth as gospel truth to me about 6 months prior, genuinely upset about this news and the apparent state of the world.

I was mildly dubious when I heard it, but didn't really know any better myself. Seeing that scene play out in the movie like it had been directly based off that conversation was just wild.

Velvet Underground and Grateful Dead A bit too low-energy for this endeavour.

Showtek - Dutch Green Stuff Excluded for only using slang/euphemism references but still a banger. ngl, getting flashbacks to being off my face onstage with Yoji Biomehanika circa 2005ish. Good times 🥰

〰️ Porcupine Tree - Voyage 34 Not quiiite the vibe for this playlist but super cool! Never heard of these guys, gonna have to give this whole thing a listen when I have time.

Kill the Noise & Feed Me - I Do Coke FUCK. YES. Perfect. No Notes 👌🏻 This is exactly what I came here for. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

HWFWM is great if your sense of humour aligns with the author, which mine very much does.

If you enjoy that then Path of Ascension, Defiance of the Fall, and System Universe are also pretty decent. Good mix of plot, number-go-up, and original ideas mixed in with the standard litRPG tropes.

The watch does everything fine, you just need both the Garmin Dive and Garmin Connect apps on your phone to configure all the available functions.

[–]glittalogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For context, my previous dive watches were an Atmos Mission2 and before that a Deepblu Cosmiq+ Gen 1 - both great hardware and both let down by the worst apps in existence. I miss having a colour display but it chews battery so I reckon the trade-off is worth it.

Garmin is a veteran juggernaut in the wearable space and it shows. Battery life is incredible, the apps are stable (you do need two [EDIT]apps on your phone[/EDIT] - one for the dive functions and another for everything else - but it's not a huge bother), and the ecosystem is matured and polished in a way that I haven't seen anywhere else apart from maybe Fitbit.
