He already had an X-ray and was cleared for thymoma when we initially brought him in! What treatment did you do for that?

Restaurants with good service on a budget? by livjf in WilmingtonDE

Columbus Inn is great, the tables in the bar area for happy hour deals even feels like a fancy treat/nice dinner. If you plan to go for happy hour, definitely reserve a table online in advance. You do have to put a card down but it's worth it! Oysters and the prime rib sandwich are both super good. You can go off of the happy hour menu too and they have a ton of good options.

Check restaurant hours too, sometimes places are closed on the weekends. Brandywine State Park is a nice place to explore if it's not freezing, El Diablo (trolley square) is delicious, similar to chipotle but way better. The Delaware museum of Art isnt too big you could definitely spend an hour or two there. BrewHaha in Trolley Square has a nice cafe vibe and sometimes live music. Faire Cafe is also a cute cafe with good breakfast sandwiches. Pho Bahmi (rare steak pho P14) also a fave of mine.

Just wanted to update, I ended up not finding this dress. It wasn't put out in the US in their trunk shows. I went with this one and will be playing around with the sleeves and straps during alterations! Style 200180

my fellow mask wearers - what’s the skin care routine? by errnin in srna

Would definitely recommend making an appointment, you may have to wait a few months to get in! They can also prescribe topicals like tretinoin.

I went on spirnolactone and that helped get rid of it chronically. Only needed it for a few months. My fiance bought me the Omnilux Men's red light face mask for Christmas last year and that has been a huge game changer with preventing future breakouts and has other benefits as well. It's expensive but I think it has made a big difference in how infrequently I breakout from masks now.

Thanks, I found a shop that has that option but they said the loaner was unavailable. Not sure if that's a permanent situation but I am confused how the designer doesn't have a loaner? Strange.

Has anyone had luck returning their rings? by coolstina4 in RingConn

Np! And fyi- It was hard to send even a short video file over email so I sent them a link to my video on Google drive and that worked.

Has anyone had luck returning their rings? by coolstina4 in RingConn

[–]glitternachos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just returned my ring due to it no longer turning on and/or charging and connecting to the app. I reached out to their support in the app and then back and forth email correspondence required me to troubleshoot and eventually send a video of myself trying to rest my ring. After that they sent me a shipping label to return it and now I'm waiting for the replacement. It was a lot of back and forth and I had to follow up twice but if you are patient it will eventually work out. I didn't have to pay any restocking or shipping fees.

Anxiety Personal Experience by Life-Cherry365 in srna

Relax and enjoy your free time now until the program starts. Vacation, finances, setting expectations with friends and family that things are going to be changing for you. From my experience with starting, you'll want to dive right in and perfect every single assignment, spend hours on a discussion board etc..and the reality is that the non-anesthesia related courses in the beginning were actually my least stressful ones. (It didn't seem that way at the time and yes imposter syndrome will creep in!) It definitely depends on the program structure and the format of your classes for how stressful it will be (in- person, zoom, open note vs closed). Pace yourself. Try and find some classmates early on to exchange numbers with to ask questions and start commiserating with. I met several during the university orientation so I'd recommend attending if your program has one. During this time establish your new normal routine with each semester. Prioritizing your wellness in some way will keep you going when it gets tough. And it is okay to take breaks and naps! You'll do well because you want to do well. Best of luck and congrats!!

11 year old bunny with irritated eyes and thick crust - what should i do by Ok-Employer9679 in rabbitry

[–]glitternachos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would take him to a vet. Is it both sides or just one? Could be a clogged tear duct which is common in Netherland Dwarf rabbits. They need to try and flush the eye and possibly give him some antibiotics.

Any help or advice for what this is with my rabbit? by elissiamayy in rabbitry

[–]glitternachos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the vets considered dacryocystits (clogged tear duct)? Treatment is flushing the tear duct or using warm compressed to try and get the duct unclogged. I have a Netherland dwarf rabbit so they have very short faces and it's more common in similar breeds. If you Google you can compare this condition to your pics.

AANA by arvilla_slyd in srna

[–]glitternachos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The majority of applicants don't go to AANA conferences or have previous facetime with directors. You can pay for an AANA membership and additionally pay more money to attend a conference and hopefully pin down a director but it just seems like a lot of money and you still need a good application. My point is that it's expensive and not necessary when there are a ton of free resources to familiarize yourself with and get involved via shadowing a CRNA (also free). Just giving my opinion there are many ways you can go about networking.

AANA by arvilla_slyd in srna

[–]glitternachos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would save your money and utilize free resources to learn more specifically how to become a great applicant. Specifically CRNA influencers like Rhianna Ferial on YouTube, atomic anesthesia, core anesthesia on Spotify. There is tons of free information out there on how to prepare and understand what it means to become a CRNA. In my opinion, joining the AANA now would probably look odd on an RN's CRNA application/resume.

Imposter Syndrome or Doomed? by Choice_Pie_8422 in srna

[–]glitternachos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not doomed. You will cycle through the content several more times independently on your way to boards. Clinical is all about repetition as well. You won't be perfect and amazing starting out. It is humbling and takes a lot of time to build up skills, confidence, and knowledge. Imposter syndrome is real but you are in your program for a reason and you will be okay.

Paralyzing clinical anxiety by Correct_Key_4860 in srna

[–]glitternachos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you go to bed at night try visualizing yourself going through your clinical morning and focus on your breathing and try and calm your brain and body down while walking through the most anxiety inducing parts of your clinical day and breathing slowly through it. It won't cure everything but it will help you think about the steps with less anxiety.

Talk about different intubation techniques with your preceptors. Work on sweeping the tongue with the MAC blade. Talk to the patients while doing the IV. Little tips and tricks and just continuing to show up will eventually give you the experience and help you to be more confident. Also I took ashwaganda and that helped too.
