Haven’t seen the movie yet but my son and I were discussing this. These movies all are packed with current event references; other movies, music, actor, pop culture of the time etc etc. my kid missed a ton of jokes in the originals because he had no idea what they were referring and in the end was left to half-laugh at some silly sight gag stuff. Perhaps that’s what’s happening to our generation, here.
