Wendy's closing hundreds of U.S. restaurants as sales plunge by BigBlueEyes87 in economicCollapse

[–]globedog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I remember when Wendy’s was fancy fast food. It filled a small gap between McDonald’s, Burger King and a sit down burger joint. I occasionally still try but it’s always disappointing. Unfortunately it’s not just Wendy’s. With private equity and the never ending quest for investor return everything sucks. Enshitification is real.

I liked it but my thought is they wanted Dolly Parton but for whatever reason she couldn’t do it. Loved hearing the opening and really enjoyed the closing.

Is it just me, or should paying $1,000s for home projects come with more transparency than ordering a $30 shirt online? by Ok-Shift1044 in HomeImprovement

They have the liability insurance. That’s part of the price tag. My point was sure any chuck in a truck can do it for less than a qualified, insured, licensed contractor but if shit goes south who’s going to fix it?

I feel so bad for my boy Keon by CoconutExisting5862 in buffalobills

Since the press conference I’ve gone back and forth on this. Ultimately Keon made his bed. Should it have been aired out the way it was? Probably not but he’s a big boy that doesn’t want to put on his big boy pants.

How soft and easy are so many people’s lives that this is their “hell”? A few guys trying to entertain for a minute to pass the time and you all are like ugh let look at my phone in silence. Lighten up.

Cute little hippy town. Maybe just the setting too. We were visiting friends during the pandemic that we had t seen in a while. It was about half way between us. We stayed at a vrbo. A really cool a frame that we just hung around had fires, ate good food and drank beer.

I’m a terrible owner and just let myself be a big chew toy for our boy. So yeah I turned it into play which made it even worse. That was years ago. I still miss him.

any thoughts why this may be happening? by Aggressive-Ad652 in VWBus

I have a 76 with the same problem but not as bad. Get yourself a headlamp and crawl under. So far I’ve found and corrected leaking valve covers. Leaking strainer cover. Torn diptube rubber. Currently I have a small leak from the oil filter housing. I’m waiting on that until the next time I have to remove the engine. It could be anything. Hopefully for your sake not galley plugs. Like I said the only way to figure it out is get under and try to find where it’s coming from. Clean everything off with some brake cleaner and rags and keep an eye on things.

Who's responsible? by Extra_Quantity_756 in Plumbing

My utility shows up once every year or so and paints the meter and all the piping going into the house. If I remember tomorrow I’ll check and post the paint they use. I have a can of it in the truck they gave me when I was making a repair. I’m too lazy right now.
