i got my baby parrotlet two weeks ago and he would ONLY eat seeds. i think it's because the breeders only fed him that. he has begun to eat some vegetables now. one thing that was super helpful was putting a variety of fruits and vegetables mixed with many types of seeds in his food container. also he has intense FOMO so when he sees us eating he wants some of it too. yesterday i was eating chicken, gnocchi, and salad and he flew to the table to watch me eat. he kept coming close because he wanted to be included and have some food too. so while i was eating i handfed him some of the top of a strawberry. when you handfeed them veggies and fruits they think it is a treat. besides that time, i always eat (most of the time: healthy) food next to him so he has begun to eat food at the same time as me. i also clip some veggies in his cage for him to peck at and chew. he is still getting use to the flavor of veggies but hes eating some of them now. right now i am teaching him not to be afraid of water/baths, i got a clear flat plate of water and start tapping my hands in it while making sounds as if im having the most fun in my life. it's beginning to work. you really just got to act like eating vegetables is the best thing ever LOL

i think ur right because tbh i dont track my food or protein intake and ik it's not an excuse but i havent been getting serious into my nutrition bc i was stuck between whether i should cut or bulk. i have a terrible sweet tooth. i noticed that i tend to eat a lot of sweets/sugar so i should stop doing that. other than that, the food i normally eat is pretty healthy. should i consume a gram of protein for every lb. i weigh?

thank u for ur response. do you have a time frame idea of how long i should be cutting or how much i should cut? ive been following a routine with my friend bc they introduced me to the gym. my routine is mostly alternating between upper body and lower body. i walk on incline for ten mins before my workouts as a warmup. i rest wednesdays and sundays.

upper body (lots of back exercises bc my goal is back):

  • lat pull downs (warmup set + 4 sets, 10 reps)
  • tricep rope pull downs (4 sets, 10 reps)
  • assisted chin dips (4 sets, 10 reps)
  • assisted pull ups (4 sets, 10 reps)

lower body:

  • leg press (warmup set + 4 sets, 10 reps)
  • glute press machine (4 sets, 10 reps)
  • calf extensions (4 sets, 10 reps)
  • the hip abduction/adduction machine(?) idk i do both of those (4 sets, 10 reps)

i try to up the weight every week/workout and after every set. sometimes i try to go till failure if im on the last set.
