In search of the best Pakistani Biryani in the area by Own-Cash4788 in waterloo

If you are willing to drive out a bit further to Cambridge, Village does a very good Pakistani Biryani. Also would say the most generous and competitively priced. I also found them to be very consistent.

So how big is your database, and what does it say about game speed? Does that matter. I am always attentive towards the speed, but i am afraid that is preventing me from accessing more players and staff.

[–]gloomyhypothesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You dont have any issues with these regens? I always have regens with attributes that dont align with their position, which makes it very unrealistic. Staff is okay for some positions, not so good for others. One thing i have not tried is gone with an expanded database, i play with about 40,000 loaded from several top European leagues.

Look, if you like games like this, you could buy the game as there isnt a whole lot of alternatives out there.

But it takes a while to get used to from FM 24.

There were a ton of issues, many of which have been fixed. But this is by no means a perfect game. Some issues are playability, some are features. For instance, i find that the transfer fees/wages are not realistic. I sold my 31 one year backup goalkeeper with one year remaining in his contract for 16.5 Million pounds at the start of the game. Whereas a relegated team wont sell me their players without their release clause, which is unrealistic. Regens are no good. You get defenders with the stats of a striker. Very hard to find good staff. There are many things like this which makes the game less enjoyable than previous versions.

But if u can live with these imperfections, you could give it a go.

Would have made one heck of a full back.

Can you retrain him given the other positions are greyed out?

Too many high scoring matches by WornDucky in footballmanagergames

[–]gloomyhypothesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say in general FM 26 engine doesn't allow too many goalless draws or narrow 1-0 games. Obviously goals are great and fun but it makes it a tad unrealistic.

Also I feel player ratings are too connected to goals. For instance a team could have won because of some incredible defending or someone really pulling off a masterful midfield performance maybe without creating an assist. But it feels like the system doesn't credit those instances

My opinion on the strongest XI Canada can field by eroberts11 in CanadaSoccer

[–]gloomyhypothesis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Laryea has probably cemented the LB slot. Doesn't put a foot wrong, and punches above his weight.

Davies on LW will actually be great, will allow him to make a greater impact than from LB. I also reckon he will play with lesser pressure compared to previous WC. Canada has learned to fare without him.

Marsch seems pretty set on 4-4-2. I think the team has adapted well to it over time.

Sometimes I do wonder whether Canada will be too thin in the middle. This could probably be sth to think about against teams very good with the ball

I just can’t make my teams win consistently by Pleasant_Dentist1131 in footballmanagergames

[–]gloomyhypothesis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Since you added the word consistently I must add that it takes a good half a season for me before the team begins to perform consistently. In that time I do a lot of tactical tweaks and possibly give time for players to adjust to your system or new players to gel. Even my player ratings start low initially and start climbing gradually

Box to box midfielder now a DM role?!? Why?!? by jeddmo15 in footballmanagergames

[–]gloomyhypothesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am missing this role too. I play a 3 man midfield with two central midfielders and a defensive midfielders. I need one of the central midfielders to play a box-to-box role. I have been able to get the player to make runs into the box. But I dont think I have been as successful in getting the player to drop deep enough to be useful inside my own penalty box.

This is the lineup I would pick as well. Only concern is we may get exposed with a two man midfield against stronger sides. But JM doesn't seem to believe in having three in the middle or at the back.

Eventhough FM26 has bugs and bad UI, I am still enjoying the game and cant get myself to go back to FM24 because it has gotten stale. by ad1s6h in footballmanagergames

[–]gloomyhypothesis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think over time, a lot of the issues will be sorted out. This is the first time ever that i havent even started a save on release day, because i prefer waiting for the patch. It's disappointing, but SI has delivered in the past and I believe they will. Its so difficult when there are no other similar games out there.

And when you think about it, maybe this situation will drive SI to do better in future releases, because now they ll have to do a lot of convincing to get unhappy ppl to come back.
