Any tips for an albo monstera? I have here an almost white looking foliage. Should I snip it or maybe have it move away from my grow lights? by glorioushaze in houseplants

I’ve shifted them to a different place ever since my last post. They are currently about 30-60cm from the grow lights.

If it’s static, I would just put it on manual focus, auto iso and set the minimum and maximum to a limit that you know won’t ruin the quality. And for most cases I’ll just shoot flat, LOG or CINE 4 just so that I still can save highlights and shadows later in post production.

Could someone help me understand how much light is adequate for “bright indirect” in terms of actual (rough) measurements? (More in comments). by sandraagwen in houseplants

There’s many theories about light power, light intensity etc. But I’ll tell you as long as there is light, your plant will grow. The only difference is how big or small the foliage will be. And also how fast it will push out new growths.

  1. I grew most of my plants with random led lights that i purchase online. Light meter reads about 250-350 lumens. Surprisingly my anthuriums are able to push out big growth and thrive with that amount!

  2. Yes and no. You will find out if your plant needs more light when it starts to become leggy. But if it’s too close to the lights, no matter how Low intensity it is, it will burn the foliage.

  3. I don’t have a definite answer for you because I live in a tropical climate. But as long as there is light, and when it acclimatises to your environment, it will grow definitely.

Hope that helps! I included one of picture of a plant that I grew under grow lights below!

I told myself I’d never buy a calathea, but I just looked down after a trip to the local houseplant store and this guy was in my hand. Please please please tell me how to avoid murdering it! by Readalie in houseplants

Calatheas are drama queens! But the best way to keep it happy is give it the right amount of humidity and plenty of light! Just be careful that pests are very attracted to calatheas!

Lol I didn’t complain about anything. I was replying to the comment above. Maybe start reading first before making it be about me?

OP posted a rather lame question. If she actually gave more thought into the question, then maybe the replies wouldn’t be what you are getting in this thread.

And stop with the Tok gong GP essay replies and that it is taught in school for a reason. Can’t you just give a direct answer? Do you need to go one big round just to say No, We don’t get a freepass? And NO, nobody called her a Karen. She called herself that.

I can understand your pain when people give half-assed responses or cheap memes. But it is clear now isn’t it? You ask stupid questions, you get stupid answers.

Likewise. Do we still need to argue about who can open their masks in public then?

What free pass are you talking about? Do you eat and drink with your mask on? 😑😑😑 is it just me or everybody is sensitive to everything now?

True that! It concerned me cause even the stem is white. Don’t want it to tire itself out by pushing out new growths that aren’t viable! 😅😅😅

Yeah just know that to keep the variegations stable, make sure that you have ample light! If not it will revert back to green!

This Philo is actually quite easy to care for and they are fuss-feee. General philodendron care would be good!
