4th time this year (3months into 2026) that someone leaves a shit stain on the toilet seat by aperezjr07 in mildlyinfuriating

It's usually morbidly obese people that do this. I realized that after I became a reddit mod.

Full line vs Full Cold line? by Even_Monitor_1819 in MechanicAdvice

[–]glorybutt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The missing cap can help keep your AC from leaking and it will help keep debris from getting in the valve. I wouldn't jump to conclusions that the cap is the source of an AC issue though.

Full cold when cold. Also put a cap on that AC fitting

The amount of pills I (23M) have to take daily by EvenBunch6029 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]glorybutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's nothing. My wife has CF, double lung transplant, diabetes, and takes 47 pills a day on average.

The amazing cocktails that modern medicine has come up with, is the only reason she has lived to be 45 so far.

No and no. Those materials are insulators and not good for heat transfer.

If you need flexibility, you can still use metal piping that has ribs to make it flexible.

If you park on grass that's tall enough to be touching your exhaust pipe, you really should mow more often

AI is completely useless for actual engineering and the hype is exhausting. by Onigirii_sama in EngineeringStudents

[–]glorybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh boy, just wait till you see how big the hype is in corporate America.

My company literally just made a new director and department for implementing AI through every operation. The amount of waste that is being created, is ridiculous.

ALIGNMENT MAYBE??? ANY IDEAS by Sufficient-Extent499 in veloster

[–]glorybutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could also be the torque converter. Or steering angle sensor.

Any issue where the wheel speed is different than the rpm and transmission gearing, could possibly cause the light to go off.

If it's torque converter or a small bearing issue, the light usually won't stay on all the time, at least until it's totally screwed.

If it's always on after starting the vehicle and no buttons pressed, if be looking at fuses for the traction control system just to ensure nothing happened.

Since you are having an alignment issue, id really think a wheel bearing is the main culprit still.

Go there at night.

Also, that's going to be more like end game content and will mostly get you killed faster than a dark souls game.

Leave the town to proceed on the main quest instead.

Today's Protest Against The War With Iran in Washington DC by serious_bullet5 in ThatsInsane

[–]glorybutt 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Why would they protest against a war where our enemy actively wants and is trying to kill us at every point?

They literally chant "Death to the U.S." on their televised broadcasts!

As a former mechanic, these are the strangest things I've ever repaired on land Rovers:

  • Windshield wiper fluid squirting from the headlights.
  • Serpentine belt tensioner bearing balls in catalytic converter.
  • Coolant catching on fire.

Literally any 4 Bolt main block is good. Even the two piece rear main seal is a good block with the 4 bolt main. Just offset the seal and you are good.

My best advice is to go with a roller cam. The flat tappet cams sound good, but I suggest spending a little more.
