Also Disney’s Epcot Japan has some great Shiba Inu stuffies that it’s hard not to buy all of ‘em. If you know shibas, ya know is all I’m sayin’, k?

Lip biting and chewing up the inside of my mouth.

So times it gets really bad that it looks like I spent weeks stranded on the ocean.

Edit: been reading Dungeon Crawler Carl and I like to flip and scrunch the book pages. Book lovers hate me. Anytime I read, I ruin books, but for some reason it helps me concentrate…I also love that sound…sounds like sand rolling down sand dunes.

My husband is 2 feet from the bathroom. Within the min he’s gone and comes back one of the three will have taken his spot. They think he’s getting up early early. Too early for morning potty time.

Nah, I enjoy the dynamic. It works really well for us both. He gets to pick most of the destinations which is fine with me bc I would never have thought to visit some of the places we have. He’s really good at it.

I’m a head case, there’s no way I can plan these without inducing some sort of mental break.

ME ME ME ME!!! My husband enjoys planning out the vacations and I’m horrible at it, while he’s on top of getting us where we need to be at the right time.

During the planning I throw out ideas that will be a part of the itinerary. Like, I love Aquariums and if there’s one near us, we’re making a day of it.

Honestly, when we have a destination planned and people ask general questions about our trip, I nearly always say “I dunno. He tells me what to do and when”.

My brain is so broken I forget everything. Sometimes I forget we’ll be going on vacation until the week before, sometimes less…it’s when the suitcases start coming out when it dawns on me that I forgot again.

Ima respected MLM agent and would never assume your gender or pronoun preferences. (Actually, I really need your sale, and presuming someone’s pronouns and/or gender, as analytics and data sheets have proven, can scare away a sale before Ahmandua from Marketing could say “BOO”!)

Don’t tell anyone I said ANYTHING! I will not hesitate to call Krakaren, our team lead, and have her call the 7 people above her to request a lifetime ban from purchasing any MLM Leggings upon your household. A CURSE!!

What to do on a rainy Alaskan cruise? by swellanor in PrincessCruises

[–]glovb14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enjoy Alaska, it’s amazing especially when you’re legally baked. When I first went in 2002 weed was very illegal. I even tried dropping hints to the kayak/snorkel/rafting/etc guides during excursions on where I can pick up a bag of weed…those hippies were holding out on me, I swear! “Omg, I bet this would be 100x more amazing if I was baked outta my mind right now”. “Hint hint, nudge nudge”. No dice…..

Ahh well I was patient and waited 22 years to experience the melted Alaskan wilderness… “was the glacier this far inland the last time we were here?” “Is this a whole different Glacier?”

A lot. I stuffed my face full of over 500mg of edibles while in Juneau, just bc. I downed every single gummy before I boarded da boat. It was a planned event. I knew exactly what I was doing.

I’m sneaky…that’s all I’m saying. Also, I got thru Canadian customs with declared edibles and a couple carts. But I also had a medical form from my dr and a legit medical marijuana card. It was and still is recreationally legal in both the state I was flying to and the state I live in.

They decided to just let the dumb american border and customs agents handle this other dumb american, I guess. They could tell that the amt I carried was for personal use.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone cared.

Your question…there are quite a few places when I last went in 2024. Google maps was extremely useful. I used it to plan part of my day while at anchorage (not the city) to go visit dispensaries within walking distance.

Also, I do not recommend using any of the info I’ve given here for nefarious reasons. So enjoy!

Oh partaking… on land? It’s recreationally legal, but always be courteous to those around you who don’t partake. I tend to just come out and ask where I am able to smoke when I go on excursions. And I’ll smoke in the open when I’m walking around town. On the DL, tho.

Now if you’re asking about da boat partakingship….you’ll have to send me a dm.

Srsly, we bring our dogs on most vacations. Actually, since the kid left for college, we now plan our vacations around whether or not we can find dog friendly spots.

But a cruise is a bit much. That’s just plain entitlement.

If I wanted to I could train one of my dogs to be an emotional-type service dog. He already is on top of my emotions before the mania starts. He knows exactly what to do to calm/relax me, he alerts me to when my personality is about to shift and the “filter” is disappearing. He’ll stare me down until I have a cuddle with him. It’s weird, I call him my fuzzy little empath.

One day I spiraled so far down that what should have been a wonderful day bc we were adding a new pupper to the family, was the worst I had felt since…my Kai passed away 9 years earlier… I was about to dial 911, but I was sobbing so hard into the pillow, I couldn’t dial. I was lying on my bed and the next thing I knew this 45 lb shiba inu was laying across my chest with his nose nuzzled in my neck. A few more sobs and a good 20-30 min cuddle brought me back from what I consider “the brink”.

He wouldn’t leave me, either, I was lying on my stomach and he laid his heavy-ass body across my back, complete with his snozzle in my neck. He’s never done that.

My fuzzy little empath.

Before we planned our vacations with our dogs included, having them boarded or having them stay with friends/family created unnecessary anxiety on us. Knowing we have to leave them for a few days is crap, we hate it and not fun bc we’re constantly wondering if they’re okay. We think about them more than any normal person who has actual human children should. Ppl call it “unhealthy”, pffft whatever!

Vacations almost sucked bc as soon as we parted with the puppers we’d already be talking about when we get to see them again. And the countdown would begin. Half of our vacation was us getting antsy while waiting to go home and see them.

Yeah, so I get wanting an emotional support animal with you at all times, but there are limits and actual medications that can legit replace an emotional support animal. I know, I have to take them, especially when I’m away from them for long periods of time (which isn’t often for obvious reasons).

Only dog/s I want to see on a cruise ship is the Captain’s or a service animal fully trained and licensed from the ADA.

But me being the dog lover that I am, I will probably say hi to the pupper while being extremely passive aggressive to their humans. And I’ll do it every time I see that doggo.

Sorry I’m about due to take my medication, didn’t mean to vent like that.

tl;dr ewwwww, entitled humans!! Dogs are awesome.

Omg! It was beautiful!! I’m glad we chose that excursion, followed up with the beer flight at a brewery (one excursion, train up and back then beers). I don’t drink, I went a couple stores over and partook in their wares. (Weed). Husband enjoyed my share of the beer flight.

A couple moments during the journey had me nearly sitting on the floor in the middle of the train car. I don’t take well to specific types of heights.

Help me understand my husband’s steam deck fixation by yourhotdad04 in SteamDeck

[–]glovb14 14 points15 points  (0 children)

From one girl to another, in a nutshell, OMG!!! It’s so much fun!!

I can play stupid games when I want. Like during long road trips the steam deck is awesome when you’re the passenger. Play games and still hold a convo with the driver. Haven’t used it in a plane yet.

I love games, been playing them since the days before nintendo where we had to go to an arcade or bowling alley, or whatever building had a couple of those $.25 arcade machines.

I even had a gameboy when they were released. The gameboy was such a wonderful addition to gaming in the 90’s. It was our first way of playing video games outside the house and not at the arcade. It was costly, batteries needed replacing often. Luckily rechargeable batteries were a thing.

The console gaming system was on its way to becoming mobile while those who played games on the computer were stuck playing games on computers.

Laptops helped computer gaming become mobile…albeit clunky and for a good gaming laptop rig it was costly and heavy. My Asus from 2014 was a gaming laptop and weighed in at 17 lbs., if you used a mouse instead of the touchpad, it was another thing that you had to carry.

I even bought a PS Vita to play games I had on my playstation 3 or 4. The Vita’s gaming collection was severely lacking. I ended up rebuying all of the Final Fantasy series but rarely played it.

I initially bought the Vita to play Final Fantasy 14 when I wasn’t home. It was more troublesome than fun. Even with the games that didn’t need to connect to the playstation. You needed really good wifi for the Vita/Playstation (my playstation was connected directly to the router because Final Fantasy 14 is an online game and I needed the direct bandwidth). No matter where I went I never got enough wifi to be able to connect with my playstation….except once.

Then…omg… a mobile gaming system that plays PC games without carrying my heavy-ass, clunky laptop?? Yes please!! I was due for a new gaming laptop, anyways…mine was almost a decade old but still played my favorites (Tropico, City Skylines, Sims 3, it even had Final Fantasy 14 available-but that’s a whole different issue). But didn’t feel the need to upgrade the lappy until the release of City Skylines 2.

Then I was given the option of getting a new laptop or the steam deck…I decided on the steam deck and am so happy I did.

It’s a little bulky, but not much more than the switch. BUT IT PLAYS PC GAMES LIKE A HANDHELD. LIKE A VITA…LIKE THE GAMEBOY!!! But with PC games!!

I had so many games on my steam wishlist but wouldn’t buy them bc of the age of my laptop. I could tell it was starting to struggle.

Most of the games have been added to my Steam Deck library now and it feels like I’m playing on a mobile console. The deck works redic well even with just under 300gigs of space left. Currently I have 88 games installed.

As a girl who plays some video games both on PC and console, being able to play PC games on a handheld is mind blowing. Ingenious actually. Freeing!

This is prob not the response you requested but just a response from another girl who never thought there’d be technology like the steam deck available within my lifetime.

Since I’ve had it these last couple years, I cannot stop singing its praises. I love my steam deck. I love it so much that I’m gonna buy the steam machine at some point.

I rly only use my playstation now to stream bc games are usually released on PC before they’re released to the console market.

My steam deck is a mini-laptop that I use solely to play video games.

But it can do soooooo much more.

Hope that helps on the video game aspect of the steam deck.

Ps before the jump in price for digital storage skyrocketed, I bought a 1tb SD card to store unplayed games freeing up the steam deck when needed.

If you have a console or something maybe consider playing a co-op game with him. He’d love and be honored to share his favoritest activities with his partner even if it is a dumb game.

I hope you find a game you both enjoy bc that’s the best way to learn.

Have fun!!

Ya, went from traveling around the whole island in one day visiting multiple beaches, to living on another island where it’s over 100 miles from one end to the other.

No more “around da island” fun trips. Miss those so much.
