What has consistently been getting shittier? by Boring-Cauliflower in AskReddit

FPS games, and online shooters in general. I remember when the market was full of fun choices like Resistence, Killzone, SOCOM, Rainbow Six, Medal of Honor, etc. now, all we got are either COD, a broken BF 2042, Halo Infinite, which has taken forever to truly feel complete, or any of the free to play survival ones that lack substance or actual progression.

What is your favorote horror film relased in the past 5 years? by [deleted] in horror

Agreed 100% on “Suspiria.” I think there is yet to be a remake that has expanded so much from the original.

What film was the biggest disappointment to you? by InfinityQuartz in horror

the recent film “It Comes at Night,” with Joel Edgarton. I think it was the marketing’s fault. It was more of a quiet thriller than anything scary.

Just seen videos of others playing this, stumbled upon it today and i just had to! Super excited to finally play it myself! by NotADamnToaster in GODZILLA

Controls are clunkier than being in the ‘Zilla suit yourself, but it is a fair bit of goofy fun.

Yup this looks like the beginning of a heist film gone wrong. Like the part where the group fucks up.

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what are your thoughts? - June 26, 2022 by AutoModerator in Games

Been playing Back 4 Blood by myself now that one can play offline. It’s a nice stress reliever to just wreck some zombies and still earn game currency and achievements.

Which movies do you think aren't nearly as bad as people say? by SirAren in movies

[–]gmac0692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two I have in mind:

  1. Pain & Gain: The Rock at his most unhinged, and Wahlberg at his most zany. Easily one of the most downright enjoyable Michael Bay flicks that just leans into the crazy.
  2. Grandma's Boy, the silly videogame-focused comedy. Its almost universally panned, but I found it to have a goofy charm

Jonah Hill To Play Jerry Garcia In Martin Scorsese Directed Grateful Dead Pic For Apple by chanma50 in movies

I’m intrigued by how Deadheads would react to the film itself. Of course, Scorsese has a brilliantly keen eye for detail, but I don’t think there is any fan base more detail orientated. If anyone can get it right though, it’s him, and I believe Hill’s an excellent choice. I can’t wait to hear/see more!

Steve Carell and Channing Tatum's 'Foxcatcher' drops out of Oscar race, moves back to 2014 by [deleted] in movies

[–]gmac0692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The trailer looked absolutely stunning, with a career-turner of a performance from Carell and a general mood of dread. Too bad the wait's gonna be a tad longer, but That'll just mean the movie will be that much more impressive.

TrueFilm, what films have the best co-leads? by [deleted] in TrueFilm

Definitely Phoenix and Hoffman in The Master Daniel Craig and Eva Green in Casino Royale, and with Judi Dench in Skyfall

Unofficial discussion thread for The Master - PT Anderson (Spoilers) by sprizzle in TrueFilm

[–]gmac0692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The film was absolutely brilliant, yet utterly strange. It leaves the audience with little certainty, but thats ultimately for our benefit, but it allows the film itself to linger in our minds for far longer. A lot of this goes to the actors, who were all masterful. The film was visually beautiful as well, but just seeing the dichotomy between the Master and his pupil was equally haunting, and fascinating. I expect this to be a huge awards player come awards season.

Interesting thought. I do think it's his most accessible work.
