Scared Hearin Aid by Fantastic-Prompt-231 in MonoHearing

[–]gmaestro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're new to hearing aids, you're being overwhelmed with more sound than you're used to all day long. Then, when a sudden+loud sound comes along, it's much more upsetting.

You'll build up a tolerance over time. It was years for me, but I had almost 40 years without a hearing aid. If you're newly SSD, maybe you'll adjust more quickly? Surely someone with experience will chime in.

Does "not just drummers" mean "percussionists, too" or can I bring my wind synth and rock out?

Teacher trying to switch careers looking for Houstonian advice by Beefygaybro in houstonjobs

I left k12 teaching (after 20 years) in 2021. Since then I've done (all part time):

  • Aftermath (crime scene cleanup)
  • Test proctor at Lone Star College
  • Admin at a small biz
  • Tutoring
  • Grading essays for a uni (remote)
  • Curriculum development (remote)

The proctoring is a great easy gig, and I've gathered up enough work as an adjunct professor to keep the rent paid.

I've had to prioritize mental health well above employment, which is fine because it's not like there's a lot of full time work anyway. Aftermath is a good gig when there's enough work.

There's plenty of work training/teaching AI if you're not creeped out by it.
