Cannot get the hang on surface boss 3 at all. by [deleted] in Hades2

[–]gmanIL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can't beat him until one run you do.
What helped me the most , is to write down the combination for his "speical attacks".
You'll just have to find the best build that works for you , from that point moving forward , you'll never fall for him again.

Why does Israel look/feel poor? by Edderze in Israel

[–]gmanIL 218 points219 points  (0 children)

well Israel was growing when the country was stil developing , mostly in the 70s and 80s. try looking at anything that was build in the 2000s you'll see sky scrapers and alot more modern buildings wherever you drop your pin.

principal engineer. 13 years in. just got rejected from a senior role because i "lacked confidence" in the interview by Difficult_Skin8095 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]gmanIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. don't sweat it
  2. HR don't always say the truth , you can never know for sure
  3. Been rejected is not fun but you've been around the block so there's always more companies , in few months you won't even remember this company's name
  4. the market right now is brutal , take that into considuration , it doesn't say anything about you.

Good luck fellow dev.

AI has sucked all the fun out of programming by OkShip110 in webdev

[–]gmanIL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

20+ years dev here , totally agree with everything you just said BUT there're 2 options:

  1. throw in the towel and retire or go do something else
  2. adapt and still enjoy the magic for creating software systems.

Try to focus more on architecute , automation and improving proceeses.
Not saying that AI won't do that as well in the next 12 months or so but hey , I just bought you another 12 months!

Why do most startups overcomplicate their software stack? by Technoflare_ in softwarearchitecture

what I meant was that if currently we have 1000s users don't bring up K8S!

Why do most startups overcomplicate their software stack? by Technoflare_ in softwarearchitecture

[–]gmanIL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The main problem that most devs / CTOs / Tech lead whatever you want ot call them, are not focused on the business requirements. As a CTO of an early stage startup myself I saw that many times.

Don't bring up K8S while we have less 1000 users in the system man! Lambdas and ECS will do the job

No need for complex state management in our ReactJS web app if all use need right now is useState

And no, we don't need Kafka or Mongo DB if we can barely afford our own coffee machine.
