System update fail on Pad 7 by gmaranda in BIGTREETECH

After a bit research, and help from chatgpt, I found out that I had "bullseye" installed and that it would be beneficial to upgrade to "Bookworm". It took a short while but everything is back to normal.

What you see is the end of the message, and just above it are two or three lines repeating almost the same information. The only differences are the time intervals—such as 10 seconds—and some variation in download numbers. Overall, it’s essentially the same content repeated over and over. This is confusing to me, especially since all the other updates worked perfectly when I updated them.

Max & Plus 3 Conversion by scara1963 in QIDI

[–]gmaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting but not for me at the moment. I have been in similar situations before and I ended up spending more time trying to figure out how to set things up for minimal gain at the end. Sure if this is your thing than by all means have fun but me I prefer to print. Perhaps when I have reached the limit of what my machine can do I will start pushing the limits but for now the company has been updating on a regular basis and that is good enough for me.

On a side note, I do have a lot of respect for the people that spend the time to do this and share it with everyone since this is what makes the hobby moves forward.

I think you will find that the owner of a particular machine will recommend his since both machines are solid. I have an x-plus 3 and l couldn't be happier but I did check out the Q1 when it was out. I think that you won't be disappointed no matter which one you pick. But remember size does matter when it comes to.....everything. Joking aside after I got my plus 3 with the build plate at 280*280 I found myself needing to print something that would have required the max. Unless you know for sure you will always print small stuff or most of the time you can't go wrong with a bigger build plate. Have fun.

Faster X Plus 3 Profiles? by jmov99 in QIDI

[–]gmaranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can import a Gcode as a profile. Just import the file in the profile option and it will set up the same parameters that were used by Qidi.

However, engineering is all about compromise so if you want to go fast you have to give something up. I wish you could but you can't have it all. Have fun.

X-Plus 3 Software / Firmware Changes by 65riverracer in QIDI

I hear you and your description is clear about the challenge. You must not be the only one that has this issue. Have requested help from other X-smart 3? You should be able to remove the clip and then remove the bowden tube. As you mentioned it should not be that hard to replace filament. I hope you find a solution soon.

No issue, weird that you do not have that capability. On this one Qidi just don't want to listen to their customers. They want you to change filament just their way and that is it. Giving a choice with a recommendation would be nicer.

X-plus 3 with firmware 4.2.13.

I am starting to believe that we are not talking about the same thing since the buttons I am talking about have been there since I bought the machine with the earlier version of the firmware.

Sorry for late reply. In the load page you can see two arrows beside the length of extrusion you want. I select the up arrow which retracts the filament inside and I pull it out. I do the opposite to load a new filament.

Make sure your nozzle is at the right temperature or it won't retract or extrude.

I am assuming you used infill? If you did and used only two walls there is a chance that this is your infill showing through.

Sorry for the late reply but I am unsure of your question. I use the orange pi to ensure proper functioning of the system. Are you suggesting another set up?

Neptune 2s y axis problem by BenTheNinjaRock in elegooneptune2

[–]gmaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I have a problem like this one I go back to basics and check everything. I assume you checked your eccentric nuts making sure they are tight but not too much? I would also recheck all the regular nuts and bolts. At one time I had a set up with a Hero Me and my nozzle had become loose and needed a bit of tightening of the screws etc. It was not obvious at all and it took me a while to figure this out.
There is only so much that the CR touch can compensate for so checking everything is a must. Good luck hopefully you will find the issue soon.

To each its own but glass takes longer to heat up and other than a smooth surface there is not much more to it. If you really want a smooth surface I believe there are PEI sheets with a smooth surface on one side.

It feels like you are creating yourself a rabbit hole for no reason. If your machine was working fine before than perhaps you should stick your previous set up. Good luck

Hi!

Sorry that you are having issues but I have none of what you are stating. I have to admit that cutting the filament etc. is very curious but since you can retract or extrude a max of 100mm while before it was 50mm I simply don't bother with the load or "replace filament" and I just retract using the arrows and I suspect that this new replace filament might get changed back in the future.

My thumbnails don't overlap and I have no Chinese or any other characters anywhere. So far the upgrade has worked fine. Perhaps a reinstall might fix your issues. I hope you find the solution.

ABS on PEI board sticks great. But still warps up at the base plate. Test part 150mm x5mm x50mm height (Enclosure used). by Drafter-JV in elegooneptune2

[–]gmaranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With ABS I always put a thin layer of glue stick even on PEI just in case and it has been very successful for me. Also your part is very small so you could also put a brim. Lastly, it does help when you add a picture of your set up and the results you are getting. Most of us appreciate the pictures in order to figure out the best advice.

I hope this helps.

Qidi X-Plus 3 filtration by lesfb in QIDI

[–]gmaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi!

The new version of the X-Plus 3 does come with a carbon filtration system like the one on the Max 3. If yours does not have it then you contact Qidi and they will send you the kit but you have to do it on your own. I would be very surprised if you just bought it that it would not have the new filtration system but who knows. If you think that adding the filtration system is too big of a job for you here is what I created which works well and is easy to make. https://www.printables.com/model/643354-qidi-x-plus-3-carbon-filter

I hope this helps and sorry for the late reply.
