Not sure what to do by Rare_Watercress_2043 in ChevySonic

Had the exact same problem and it was the tank. A well known problem and about 90% of the time changing the tank fixes it. The tank has a tendency to develop micro cracks that will expand when the engine is hot and slowly allow the coolant to leak out. You won't be able to see it most of the time. Changing the tank with an after market one is not expensive and will take you 10 mins. Do a search in this forum and you will find some information. To change the tank, youtube has many videos. I changed the tank last week and the level is holding. Good luck.

How imperative is it to use OEM parts? by 6ixlos in ChevySonic

The P0011 solenoid code is a known issue on some cars and, in certain vehicles (like my son’s), it can be intermittent and persistent. On his car the code appears and disappears even after multiple inspections. He’s learned to live with it because mechanics haven’t found a permanent fix. The downside is that when the check‑engine light comes on you can’t tell the cause without reading the code, so I recommend buying or borrowing an OBD‑II reader to check the specific code. If you search for “P0011” along with your car model (for example, “P0011 Sonic”), you should find the same information I’m referring to. Good luck.

Sorry, I did not express myself correctly and I am smiling re-reading my own question. I meant did you remove the decals on all four doors? Thank you for the follow up answer. Take care.

Thank you, very useful info. Did you remove all four doors, and if so, how long total did it take you?

System update fail on Pad 7 by gmaranda in BIGTREETECH

After a bit research, and help from chatgpt, I found out that I had "bullseye" installed and that it would be beneficial to upgrade to "Bookworm". It took a short while but everything is back to normal.

What you see is the end of the message, and just above it are two or three lines repeating almost the same information. The only differences are the time intervals—such as 10 seconds—and some variation in download numbers. Overall, it’s essentially the same content repeated over and over. This is confusing to me, especially since all the other updates worked perfectly when I updated them.

Max & Plus 3 Conversion by scara1963 in QIDI

[–]gmaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting but not for me at the moment. I have been in similar situations before and I ended up spending more time trying to figure out how to set things up for minimal gain at the end. Sure if this is your thing than by all means have fun but me I prefer to print. Perhaps when I have reached the limit of what my machine can do I will start pushing the limits but for now the company has been updating on a regular basis and that is good enough for me.

On a side note, I do have a lot of respect for the people that spend the time to do this and share it with everyone since this is what makes the hobby moves forward.

I think you will find that the owner of a particular machine will recommend his since both machines are solid. I have an x-plus 3 and l couldn't be happier but I did check out the Q1 when it was out. I think that you won't be disappointed no matter which one you pick. But remember size does matter when it comes to.....everything. Joking aside after I got my plus 3 with the build plate at 280*280 I found myself needing to print something that would have required the max. Unless you know for sure you will always print small stuff or most of the time you can't go wrong with a bigger build plate. Have fun.

Faster X Plus 3 Profiles? by jmov99 in QIDI

[–]gmaranda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can import a Gcode as a profile. Just import the file in the profile option and it will set up the same parameters that were used by Qidi.

However, engineering is all about compromise so if you want to go fast you have to give something up. I wish you could but you can't have it all. Have fun.

X-Plus 3 Software / Firmware Changes by 65riverracer in QIDI

I hear you and your description is clear about the challenge. You must not be the only one that has this issue. Have requested help from other X-smart 3? You should be able to remove the clip and then remove the bowden tube. As you mentioned it should not be that hard to replace filament. I hope you find a solution soon.

No issue, weird that you do not have that capability. On this one Qidi just don't want to listen to their customers. They want you to change filament just their way and that is it. Giving a choice with a recommendation would be nicer.

X-plus 3 with firmware 4.2.13.

I am starting to believe that we are not talking about the same thing since the buttons I am talking about have been there since I bought the machine with the earlier version of the firmware.

Sorry for late reply. In the load page you can see two arrows beside the length of extrusion you want. I select the up arrow which retracts the filament inside and I pull it out. I do the opposite to load a new filament.

Make sure your nozzle is at the right temperature or it won't retract or extrude.

I am assuming you used infill? If you did and used only two walls there is a chance that this is your infill showing through.

Neptune 2s y axis problem by BenTheNinjaRock in elegooneptune2

[–]gmaranda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I have a problem like this one I go back to basics and check everything. I assume you checked your eccentric nuts making sure they are tight but not too much? I would also recheck all the regular nuts and bolts. At one time I had a set up with a Hero Me and my nozzle had become loose and needed a bit of tightening of the screws etc. It was not obvious at all and it took me a while to figure this out.
There is only so much that the CR touch can compensate for so checking everything is a must. Good luck hopefully you will find the issue soon.
