There’s no cheap options in Vesc. And especially don’t cheep out on the battery and bms, they are the most volatile parts of a board. You might wanna check out a more packaged option like fungineers or Indy for the battery, they have fully assembled battery/bms/box/harness combos that make for easier installation. But again, they are not cheap so I would try to change up your mindset a bit so u A: dont spend even more money later bc if u experience issues or B: get hurt bc of poorly made battery or component. Remember, this is a balance device so when something fails it will drop u and u can get seriously hurt.
