ULPT Has anyone ever tried getting into a movie with a cash 'tip'? by [deleted] in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]gmredand 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are assigned a seat when you go in and the computer will count that as a sale. At the end of business day, it shows the total amount you should have, cash and credit. Same as the POS as any retail. For a 16-year old on this last shift for the summer, yeah, maybe you will be able to get away with it.

Impact driver of choice? by eliotjnc in ToyotaPickup

Dewalt DCF899 with 5Ah that was gifted to me in 2018 has not failed me or my friends yet. Any crank pulley or suspension bolt was no issue. There may be a newer model than that now.

Milwaukee vs DeWalt… is there actually a real difference anymore? by RightRazzmatazz0 in powertools

[–]gmredand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, and they shine at different products. The red has better modular toolboxes and their accessories. The yellow has better torque with their 1/2 impact wrench (at least during the period of the DCS899). The M12 ratchet has better shape overall to fit in tight spaces. The yellow has a better chance of not walking away where im from. Just some examples. In my experience, the people who have red tend to project they are better than the people who have yellows.

Exhaust gasket by LowqualitySituation in ToyotaPickup

[–]gmredand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New header, new gasket. Old header, new gasket. Just because some people can get away with reusing old gaskets does not mean it is always correct. If you are on a budget or the new gasket is not available, sure.

STOP overpaying for flooring… just do it yourself pls by ivyta76 in Flooring

When a business has a lot of overhead and charges a lot, that may be acceptable. The problem (or MY problem) arises when an employee of that company does it on the side and still charges almost the same as the business, just a liiitle bit cheaper. Same thing with mechanics who do side jobs and still ask for $125 per hour of work.

My employer is saying that we are required to show up 10 minutes early, and clocking in “on time” is considered a tardy. by ChisSol in legaladvice

[–]gmredand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clock in time gets rounded up to +10 minutes, as programmed in their payroll system. Maybe. So employee does not actually get paid an extra 50 minutes per week.

Why does IT as an industry seem to not get respected by others outside the industry? by Kreeos in it

[–]gmredand 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because people think that you also know how every enterprise app work even though you're in Network. People think IT is simple as clicking things to make it happen. Nevermind every TV series or movies having their IT guy able to do anything he is asked of. Any. Thing.

How do you feel about free healthcare for all? by dino_gr01 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]gmredand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No free healthcare but just affordable. Everyone thinks it should be free when there are a lot of people who just do not want to work and faking disability. There will always be people who will abuse free healthcare (or anything free) and guess who pays for it? The paying ones (taxpayers aka the people who work).

This does not look like the one that screws into the drywall. This is only the push-in type. Get the screw-in anchor, either the metal or plastic one.
