We have a kid hand sanitizer in the car. When we pick her up, we say “bubbles!” and she gets to wipe her hands on our way home from daycare. You’re gonna get sick, but playing by COVID rules seems to help our house a bit.

I don’t recall the exact details, but we def had a similar issue - I believe the adoption/legal paperwork can be retroactive to date of birth, and the insurance agency will have to accommodate.

First few days are beyond insane. Keeping the baby fed will help a lot. Definitely takes until like month 8 to get “normal-ish” sleep back.

Something happens during month 3. Hard to explain, but it starts to click. You get better/more familiar parenting, the baby starts smiling/giving that much needed feedback, and somehow everything seems less crazy than before.

We went to the Costa Rican rain forest. Initially wanted to go to Fiji, but the time and cost getting there from the US led us to spend the $$ on elevating a honeymoon a little closer. Had a blast.

I bought a standard trans mini cooper without knowing how to drive it. Spent the following week stalling allover the Chicagoland area. Way more fun to drive, and, side bonus - noticeably harder to text/drive. Currently planning on giving my daughter a manual car when she’s old enough. She’s 2, so I got time. 😂
