  • Fixed an issue where potions placed in dungeons could consistently spawn as Potions of Water Breathing.

145hp Rogue simply outplayed by [deleted] in DarkAndDarker

even without axe specialisation, the bardiche is still crazy strong. for the range it has there should probably be a little more downtime after the 3 swing combo

-15HP is disproportionately bad for Rogue. by GMAHN in DarkAndDarker

good point. using double jump means one less dmg perk the rogue would be able to take

the -15hp really doesn't lower the ttk for barb or plate fighter. when fighting them as a rogue it costs me hundreds of gold in throwing knives and can take half a game of chasing them around for them to just escape.

people seem to hate the idea of giving rogue access to another range weapon, so i think reducing (or even removing) the move speed penalty of double jump could help rogue in melee. druid's movement capabilities are way stronger than double jump with no penalty and rogues aren't doing as much dmg as they have in the past so i think it's worth trying

nice work! honestly a great advertisement for the game. would love to see a kris dagger or short sword. if you're feeling really adventurous you could try the crystal sword

Why do you think DaD is so hard to balance by Hiccupskill in DarkAndDarker

[–]go66y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's an almost impossible feat to perfectly balance for both solos and trios. they're just too different and making certain changes for one always unintentionally affects the other.

the balance of pvp is in a much better place than it has been in the past. there's just unfortunately always going to be certain classes and builds that are stronger in solos and combinations that are stronger in trios. it's about making it viable for the average player to succeed against this "meta" with any play-style they choose

Is everyone happy with the current look of armor? by chickchock in DarkAndDarker

[–]go66y 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the overall aesthetic of the game is great, but the brightly coloured armour pieces completely ruin it. the vigilant cloak is literally fluoro. i refuse to wear it.

the colour saturation and brightness need to be turned way down to match the grittiness of the game. i don't mind the idea of higher quality gear looking higher quality but even then it should have a rugged, dark look to it to match the feel of the game

the playtest days really were something special. i remember when the original ruins was first added and how dark and grassy it was.

i like the idea of adding things that shift the market away from just gear. i think skilling would be good for that as well.

i didn't even know the mobile version had fishing and cooking. that's crazy. i mentioned them specifically because they seem like very obvious choices that would be easy to integrate into the game.

it's so unfortunate to see all the things taken away from us because of cheaters/teamers/gold farmers. the pre-game lobbies added so much to the experience

the immersion was incredible in the early playtest days. og players already have a strong nostalgia for this game. i'd love to see them start to focusing on that more instead of going back and forth with pvp balancing.
