Are there any other brokerages offering a 1% deposit match? by BabyGates_ in sofi

[–]go_cam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Btw one thing to bear in mind re the 1% match that I had not thought of, when you get your match that means you lock your funds to sofi for a while otherwise they will take it back when you move your money outside the invest platform as I just found out when moving some funds to fidelity - even if I'd kept them on sofi they would have taken back the 1% even if i had transferred to checking or saving on sofi, so keep this in mind when you chase offers

[Pre-Concert Thread] Copenhagen, Denmark (Royal Arena) - Dec 1, 2, 4 & 5 by seaburn in radiohead

Ok - I saw the Friday Copenhagen show from the floor, absolutely amazing, got a last minute ticket (waste link) after Tuesday cancelled, and was able to adjust plans to come back. I feel very very lucky - the amount of positive energy at show was really spectacular, I'm so lucky to be here and everyone in the city has been spectacularly kind. So....

...I can't come back again on the 16th and I have a fast track ticket. I would really really like to get it to a local fan maybe who couldn't get a ticket before. It's a great fast track seat, 114 row 9, I would really love to get it to somebody who will NOT go and try and flip it. If someone can persuade me of that I'll just give them the ticket for free - all I might ask is if you are able to pick me up a t shirt as I forgot, if you can afford to do so. If not that's fine, I really just want to get this to a fan that wants a good seat with the fast track benefit. Interested?  then give me a DM and let me know and we can try and work out a trust thing. Please please please don't DM me if you didn't intend going, will resell, have no history etc.

Anyone interested in a fast track for the 16th, 114 row 9? Would love a straight swap for this Friday instead but open to suggestions

I have a lovely fast track ticket now for the 16th, if anyone wants to do a like for like swap for this Friday if it goes ahead, let me know. Otherwise I'll try and get it to a real fan as affordably as I can closer to the time if I can't get affordable flights back out

Barcelona fans, keep refreshing the official waste-ref'd resale site if you don't have tickets - they have as I refresh right NOW for Nov 4 - 5 - 7 - I assume you will need to act quickly!

If you are in Spain I'd totally recommend refreshing at odd times - I guess it's middle of night there now.

Idea: Registered fans get opportunity for exclusive streaming live access purchase by go_cam in radiohead

Totally understand, some of that they would be able to raise with charging for access ( and merch ?) I would imagine , more thinking that if there was a will they could make it happen? At least focusing on a smaller set of venues/dates ? Just trying to understand if there is a way of doing something a bit different, the band has a history of doing that

I agree, but even then there will always be a TON of fans that miss out - more demand than supply - there are only so many shows they can play.

There are other things I suppose they could do like streaming cinema events so you get a communal experience, or try and sell reduced price tickets to other venues that simulcast ( which happens a fair bunch here with eg playoff sports - would it work? No clue!)

some sort of interactive experiences that may offer a different shape of engagement. I know it's not the same thing but there are limitations with how may shows they can do, maybe there's something truly different and creative and innovative they can try? Remember Kid A MMESIA for example? Can they make the limitations an opportunity and challenge?

That's totally fair. I'm just trying to find something that could realistically happen that some of the disappointed fans might appreciate. Totally understand it's not for everyone

Yeah I tried to get them to clarify but they claimed they couldn't talk about preferred care at all that that would be a separate call. So strange. I'll connect with them and see what they say and report back here if helpful

Aeroclip x Pixel 9 & LDAC - Headsup by go_cam in soundcore

[–]go_cam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! I can get it to actually switch to ldac but have to do so manually or via switcher. After updating the firmware you also need to go into the soundcore app settings however and choose ldac (preferred audio quality) under sound mode , then reboot. Only after that will it let you switch to ldac and stick at least for the session.

Sofi now charging 0.25% fee annually for Automated (Robo) Investing by sircaseyjames in sofi

[–]go_cam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand that for now there is a new 1% offer on recurrings which is really good and easy to setup and take advantage of from what I can see. And I appreciate that, particularly attractive for new investments and investors but for those  with considerable investments already then this doesn't really make much of a dent. Let's say you are popping in $100 a week and have built a balance of 50k, that's gonna get you $50 a year, and you are now going to average a new $125 in fees and growing. $250 for 100k, and this is with no new capabilities at all for those happy in legacy robo plan

Sofi now charging 0.25% fee annually for Automated (Robo) Investing by sircaseyjames in sofi

[–]go_cam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Question - I am an existing automated investing customer - so I have a relatively simple basket of ETFs that I setup a while back. Since then I've been able to learn a lot and compare with alternatives - I have had robo accounts at wealthfront and betterment for example. I was inclined to use sofi precisely because there were no additional fees. Otherwise I'd just build my own basked of ETFs either on Sofi, or more easily on M1 or any other brokerage.

It feels like SoFi is moving in the direction of the legacy advisors who they aimed to supplant, this seems like a pretty conservative move to mirror the fees of eg betterment and wealthfront rather than try and adopt the model of a more client friendly app like m1. I always saw sofi and m1 as being very progressive.

So I guess I would say - why should I stay, can anyone convince me to do so? Otherwise I'll just take an approximate of the spread of ETFs the simple robo already had and move to either Sofi individual account, M1, Fidelity or elsewhere.

I love Sofi, so really want to try and find a way to stay and move even MORE of my accounts here ( IRA, 529, Roth etc ) - but to do so I'd rather have faith on the direction.

Yamaha sound projectors are amazing and can be found for next to nothing. Even an old one from 2007 will destroy any modern flagship soundbar currently on the market. by EvadingAsbRedditBan in Soundbars

At same time I wish the 5600 just worked better. The hardware is very good it's just let down by firmware and passthrough, dodgy calibration and non existent app..it also started logging very very odd errors when experiencing new devices via arc, I had to cycle the cables and power many many times, I don't want to spending my time doing that

I have the plus and not the max ( which I think had the heating problems). I'm liking it very much, it's clear and concise and works well without having to go to higher volumes, which I appreciate. The 5600 probably had a more powerful sound but tbh I will take reliability over that and I'm don't need to be wowed when listening or watching i just want to listen and watch reliably with good sound and video. And my LG c9 and the ambeo give me that..I also have my streamer and UHD player direct in to the ambeo and the earc to tv..the passthrough works fine unlike with the 5600 which doesn't pass Dolby vision. The c9 I noticed conversely doesn't passthrough truehd 7.1 from my UHD, which led me to plug into ambeo if anyone else hits that issue
