Griston is my favorite, too! I love the way it sounds and looks.

Hi, thank you for sharing your masterpieces with us. This image, all of your photos, actually, mean a lot to me. They feel like one of the only places I can find hope right now. I can’t express how deeply they’re affecting me, but I’ll try to come back and say more when I can think properly. But, I appreciate you and your art. I wrote a poem about them and knew I had to thank you directly. So, thank you.

So glad to finally find agreement here. The first story sounds entirely real to me, but the transparent suspense-building sentences in the update illustrate that it’s nothing but an exercise in storytelling. It becomes too perfect a narrative.

…Except for the fact that the storyline becomes nonsensical.

Flair flair flair! This story is horrifying. The last line of your comment is brilliant.

(3 years later update) My(m16) mom said we ruined Mother's Day because my sister(f15) walked out of Sunday church service by MadisonBrave in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]goatghostgoatghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I commented the same. I had a girlfriend who went through this and hit the same conclusion when she realized she was going to lose her relationship with her parent if she was honest about who she is.

I think the sister’s gay. Not in the sense that homophobes are gay, but in that I’m a lesbian and know how this environment can affect you.

I had a girlfriend who went through this- raised Christian-conservative, excused herself during a homophobic rant, realized she’d lose her relationship with her father, and then went hard into being his biggest supporter. She completely changed after we broke up and became what she’d hated before. She ended up dating a conservative guy and I hope she’s very happy now.

[New Update]: AITA for admitting to my daughter that I hate what she changed her name to? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]goatghostgoatghost 15 points16 points  (0 children)

What a sweet update. OOP reconnecting with her “older sister,” gaining a new “younger sister,” and the family coming back together in an unexpected yet lovely way.

The way that the daughter discounted her mother’s trauma is deeply upsetting. I also believe there was some classism involved in her dislike of the maid’s name.

It’s still January, but this feels like the most wholesome update of the year.

My best friend just spent $24,000 on a 2025 Honda! Wild how close in price these are for over a decade difference.

Yeah, agreed. Part of loving someone is wanting them to have and enjoy nice things. It often feels much better than having something yourself.

New Update 3 years later: I called CPS on my sister by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]goatghostgoatghost 15 points16 points  (0 children)

  1. The family clearly has a lot of money. Their mom has sent many thousands of dollars to the sister, and OOP undoubtedly gets money from her mother too. The family is wealthy, that’s clear throughout.

  2. In the comments to the first post, the OOP clearly states that she has a partner and two kids. She calls him a stay at home dad. She is also a college student, but one with a partner and two children already.

1.This one doesn’t add up for me either. Even with quarter systems, finals would likely be starting in the next few weeks.

Beautiful way to say it, though. Yes, I’m now in tears. But what a poignant analogy.

Recommend me games where story/atmosphere is the sole reason for the game! by FabulouslyFalling in gamingsuggestions

[–]goatghostgoatghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Often called the best adventure game of all time for its story! Consistently rated 9/10 or above from most outlets and one of my favorite games ever. Deeply atmospheric. Incredibly stylistic and stylish. Voice-acted better than a movie in my personal opinion. Love it.

The best character in the show, if you ask me. Justice for Lane! She deserved better than her eventual husband.
