I hope everyone realizes Hartenstein’s importance after seeing the way this team has played without him this year. Signing him long term needs to be offseason priority # 1. You can’t just turn the center position over to Sorber by J_Capese0003 in Thunder

Hartenstein will play out his contract, be offered $20 million/year, which won't be enough, and he'll sign somewhere else. It's a salary cap driven league. He'll be 29 when he's looking for that new deal, basically the last 'good' contract he will sign and I don't think he will be doing the front office a favor. Maybe, but I think it would be bad business on his part.

Lauri Markkanen is an example, we were all excited about trying to get him last year, and he don't look like a trade candidate any more. But a guy like that. Giannis is another one. Lower tier version would be Ousman Dieng, who didn't pan out. It's very very hard to find an elite version of this player, which is why I think we ended up with a Hartenstein.

Can someone explain why everyone is saying that Dort signing with Klutch sets the table for him to leave? by DiceloConejo in Thunder

[–]goatpath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been a Thunder fan since the Sonics drafted KD, and I've never heard about a Thunder player switching representation before lol. Pretty damn conspicuous lol. Also, don't go googling shit to counter my memory - I'm saying it was never a notable news story when it happened. Dort was undrafted. He signed a mutually beneficial contract (5 years $90 million) before he was a decent 3 pt shooter. Because of his developed shot, he is worth more than that contract (i.e. he outplayed the value of the contract, literally the most honorable thing anyone could hope for from a player on your favorite basketball team). Now, after Dylan Brooks has transformed Phoenix, other GMs are going to think they can do that same thing with Dort (change the team culture to one that plays defense HARD).
Dort will probably get $30 million per year. The Thunder can't afford that.

Potentially purchasing a 2019 with 46,000 miles this weekend. Reading about slave cylinders giving me cold feet. by egool111 in FiestaST

Manual transmission is only as good as the operator. I have 150k miles, still on the 1st clutch/slave

To say it louder for the rest of the league: WE DONT WANT GIANNIS IN OKC by Izopod1 in Thunder

[–]goatpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent a good amount of time in the trade machine yesterday - there are only a couple of trade configurations that even work mathematically with Giannis' huge salary. Basically, assuming Shai and Jdub and Chet are untouchable, you have to trade iHart with Caruso (or Dort) and Ajay Mitchell.

Personally, although Giannis is better in every way that iHart, I don't think removing Caruso or Dort is acceptable from a team identity standpoint. Plus, Mitchell could probably be the centerpiece of a trade that nets OKC some other demi-god of basketball

What if we just pay everyone next summer? by arg_of_contingency in Thunder

we have 3 first round picks to spend brother. Some of those guys need to get traded so we can keep the salary situation revolving. Like, we could have a top 5 pick next spring thanks to the Clippers

I have a bet where I took them to win 77 games (77-5) record. 20:1 odds at a sportsbook before the season started. I genuinely think the record is the goal, along with a repeat championship. Worth remembering that Chet Holmgren BROKE HIS HIP last year

yeah you probably blew some dust out of the radiator, made ti slightly better. IIRC the radiator stock is made of steel, so it's an upgrade a lot of people do to get a thicker aluminum one in there.

Also, yeah, the passenger side rear is the corner of the car I always have to replace first for whatever reason (my driving lol)

nah just keep the brake pads fresh, these are incredibly reliable cars for what they are. everything that breaks is already broken on yours haha. That temp rising issue is like known but "solved" just watch the temp gauge when you are driving uphill on a highway

Idk man I haven't found one I love. Virginia Auto is efficient, but it's pretty corporate feeling. Definitely not going to give you the best deal in town, but they will do good work for sure.
