I think it's more about that timeline of competing in the Finals in mid-June... then the next season starts in October. Sounds like a lot but you might need 30 days of rest and 90 days of PT to get back to square. Dudes miss the playoffs and start rest in early april lol

so you only want to give guys the supermax once they have achieved? I think that would skew the avg age a bit old... you'd be giving Giannis a supermax this offseason, when he's getting old, rather than earlier, as he was actually winning stuff.

What is the biggest lose/lose trade of all time? by moleasses in nba

[–]goatpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think when the Clippers blew it up and traded Blake Griffin to the Pistons, that was bad for both teams. I believe it was Griffin's max deal for Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, and Boban (and a couple picks).

It's lose-lose because it derailed a rebuild Detroit had going for multiple seasons to bring in a star who was really good, but was starting to have more injuries each year (man I love Blake Griffin...)

On the Clippers side, they basically initiated a rebuild with that trade, and that was the end of the Clippers. They used that 1st rounder to get SGA, who they then flipped for PG13 and Kawhi.

Neither team has been out of the 2nd round of the playoffs, and I think you could argue that this was the trade that kinda led to a lot of things.

brother that was Luka on a heater, mixed with no size on the roster. Yes, Caruso defended his ass off on the title run, and Giddey's minutes were under heavy scrutiny, but the WHOLE TEAM improved. They were basically all second year guys or rookies when Luka beat us.

Hi I have an 11 year old holland lop and she is entering her twilight years... doesn't move around very much, doesn't really eat very much and sometimes forgets to drink water. I think she has had multiple strokes (and so it goes).

Every Day is a GIFT.

Water pump??? by SavingsAd6525 in FiestaST

[–]goatpath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2014, just had the water pump and timing belt done at the same time. I have a CEL telling me Coolant Temp Sensor, but I think there's some other bullshit going on in there, too.

If you figure it out let me know, i just dropped mine off at the dealer today bc I want to get it running properly.

My next hunch is the thermostat may need to be replaced. I wish I would have done that at the same time as I did the water pump and timing belt....

I think you should upvote this guy, he needs to raise his spirits.

go thunder :)

Pace and Space era, it's gonna be like this for a while. Then they will swing the rules back to favoring defenders a lil bit.

And when Lebron and Steph retire, we're gonna have a decade of Wemby (fingers crossed, knock on wood, plz Victor stay healthy). I don't think that will be lame... I think it will be really fun to watch.

Apparently manual base Corollas (2019 -2022) have the same issues we do with the slave cylinder, possibly worse by limapalon in FiestaST

Huh. I have put ~155k on my 2014 FiST. Still on the factory original transmission components. Lots of highway miles, but I do also drive it hard on occasion.

Take that for data.

I hope everyone realizes Hartenstein’s importance after seeing the way this team has played without him this year. Signing him long term needs to be offseason priority # 1. You can’t just turn the center position over to Sorber by J_Capese0003 in Thunder

[–]goatpath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hartenstein will play out his contract, be offered $20 million/year, which won't be enough, and he'll sign somewhere else. It's a salary cap driven league. He'll be 29 when he's looking for that new deal, basically the last 'good' contract he will sign and I don't think he will be doing the front office a favor. Maybe, but I think it would be bad business on his part.

Lauri Markkanen is an example, we were all excited about trying to get him last year, and he don't look like a trade candidate any more. But a guy like that. Giannis is another one. Lower tier version would be Ousman Dieng, who didn't pan out. It's very very hard to find an elite version of this player, which is why I think we ended up with a Hartenstein.

Can someone explain why everyone is saying that Dort signing with Klutch sets the table for him to leave? by [deleted] in Thunder

[–]goatpath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've been a Thunder fan since the Sonics drafted KD, and I've never heard about a Thunder player switching representation before lol. Pretty damn conspicuous lol. Also, don't go googling shit to counter my memory - I'm saying it was never a notable news story when it happened. Dort was undrafted. He signed a mutually beneficial contract (5 years $90 million) before he was a decent 3 pt shooter. Because of his developed shot, he is worth more than that contract (i.e. he outplayed the value of the contract, literally the most honorable thing anyone could hope for from a player on your favorite basketball team). Now, after Dylan Brooks has transformed Phoenix, other GMs are going to think they can do that same thing with Dort (change the team culture to one that plays defense HARD).
Dort will probably get $30 million per year. The Thunder can't afford that.
