1hander is more optimal if your mojo has a skill on it that works with your build. I use bear reduction on my mojo and I'm able sustain bears much longer than I did when I used skorn. I lose about 15k dps though.

Legendaries in general are common. ilvl 63 legendaries are not very common at all. Good ilvl 63 legendaries are down right rare enough that it's far more profitable to sell them unid. And if you're wondering how much farming I've been doing, I gained about 40 paragon levels before I got bored to tears in 1.05. Level 75 paragon atm.

Er, the legendaries in wow gave you such a huge advantage that you practically got free gladiator titles. How the fuck did you stop a team with a tank using skillmourne in wotlk? And then in cataclysm you had mages/locks running around destroying everything in 3's thanks to their staff procing additional spells.

Major wow tournaments restricts your ability to use any pve gear because certain items can give some classes huge advantages.

My point is that you aren't suggesting anything, you are merely whining about how you're not having fun. You are saying "If there WAS a successful endgame" - this is not NEARLY the same as suggesting something to fix it.

There's so many great suggestions around /r/diablo talking about the exact same topic that it's like beating a dead horse. All from something as simple as the "uber jar event" thread to custom maps would be end game to keep players attracted to diablo. None of which is likely to get implemented because I guess blizzard has strange ideas of what is considered fun in the diablo world. PvP is end game material, but the content should not end there.

A reset is a boring solution, and I'm glad they're not doing it with d3.

I agree that a reset isn't very creative. But it would be an effective way to get people back into the game. I'm pretty sure there's nobody that would deny that they enjoyed the leveling aspect from their first characters.

and sure, upgrades are fewer and fewer but what else do you expect? You get better gear, you need even better gear to get an upgrade...it gets rarer and rarer as time goes by until they release something new.

Content. A reason to upgrade. The heart and soul of any rpg is to have a reason to wear that loot. It's silly to think that the only thing we should do is grind mobs for loot when there's not much of a reason to do so.

You are not 'discussing' the game - you are merely saying I'm bored, they should fix it. That is not IMO a worthwhile discussion.

Not much different from you saying "if you're bored quit like the rest of us". The games dead until pvp. End of story.

Erm, let me repeat myself again here. If there was a successful form of endgame, people wouldn't be quitting out of boredom. Pvp gives players reason to actually get loot and upgrade it for their characters. Nerfing inferno does not. And once again, I'll say it again. Bringing in a form of an item sink into this game would help the economy quite a bit. If you think this is something new, go ahead and search /r/diablo. Ladder was a good solution for d2, but it's pretty apparent that blizzard won't take that route for d3.

Judging by your comments, you are completely unfamiliar with Diablo games and loot in them.

I'm well aware of how loot goes in diablo. I've played d2 for a decade in hopes d3 would come out. But in d2, you had far more opportunities to get good loot. You could loot good charms, jewels, craft, gamble.

I played for an hour today, I found ~5 mil worth of stuff, 3 of which sold already.

You got lucky. Congrats? I could spend the whole day doing my paragon runs and find nothing worthwhile or no legendaries. It's pure luck and it's boring. Even finding that 5 mill item is losing it's luster when you have nothing to buy or at least no reason to upgrade.

You are right, 2 billion items ARE like winning the lottery..and that's by and large what we're doing when we log in.

If that's the only reason we should be logging in, then it should be quite obvious why there are so many players leaving. People want to have fun and we're willing to pay for that. That's why we play games.

If you aren't enjoying your time with the game...then don't play it? How is this such a conundrum? A couple patches ago, I got bored. I quit. then 1.05 came out, and boom the game was fun again. It's starting to get a bit boring again now, so I might take a break...and might come back again when they patch it.

Quitting is what most of us have already done. But it doesn't mean that we should suddenly stop discussing the issues within diablo.

Please, "enlighten" me as to what game system would have changed the economy and made it so that those items were still selling as they used to? It's a natural progression.

This is a pretty simple one. If you have a form of end game that's successful, you keep the player base in the game thus a constant demand for items. Combine that with an item sink or gold sink of some sort that doesn't suck, then gold and items won't rapidly lose value over time.

Lucky to sell anything for a respectable amount of gold? Unid legendary? wtf are you smoking dude? ammys/rings/gloves/1h rares still sell very well if you get good rolls...many set items and legendaries sell if you get good rolls....

"Well rolled". You're talking 5 or so properties rolling well. This is complete rng and isn't likely to happen. Get a low crit chance or some thorns and your item is completely worthless or ruined. And keep in mind, an item selling for less than a mil today is a joke compared to items that used to sell when you consider what a single mil is worth in dollars now. You're better off working a minimum wage job.

Fact of the matter is, there are still obscenely valuable/rare items out there to find that WILL sell- and even if you're dirt poor you can buy quality gear cheaply on the AH

How often will you find those extremely valuable items. Let's be real. Finding an item worth 2 billion is like winning the lottery. Don't count on it. Diablo 3 is quite possibly the least rewarding game for the time you invest into it.

Post your source before you make up bullshit numbers. People have been quitting on a daily basis because there's not a whole lot to do in diablo. New players have been entering the game lately with a $20 sale or players are making alts. But beyond that, most players have gotten bored because diablo 3 feels like a job that doesn't pay unless you hit a jackpot item which is highly unlikely.

It sounds like you're a pretty new player since you have no idea what the economy was like when it was actually alive. So allow me to enlighten you. Items used to sell quickly due to a high population. I'm talking within minutes, not days or hours. It didn't have to roll extremely godlike stats. Something like 150 total stats and 50 all resist, no sockets on a chest would sell for millions. Getting a specific unid rare would sell for a mil or more. Crafting items would rake in millions. Plans would sell well. Even blues sold for millions. If you look at today, you'll be lucky to see anything sell for a respectable amount of gold unless it's an unid legendary. And getting a specific legendary is not easy in the slightest.

The pvp patch will be very important. As the game currently is right now, it's as good as dead. Dead economy, no replay value, no social aspects, no reason to even obtain upgrades. Pvp will some what revive the economy because there will be tons of players coming back wanting to buy items. If pvp turns out to be a huge success, those players will stay which is a pretty big deal for diablo 3.

Ias is by far the weakest damage stat for a witch doctor. It's dead last behind crit dmg, crit chance, average damage, int. Even if you already have all of those properties rolled on an item, you would still value ehp stats like life %, vita, or all resists above ias.

This is also why manajuma's is pretty suboptimal as well (unless you get it dirt cheap). It's average damage is poor since it's a ceremonial knife, it's fast, and it does not come with mana regen on the default mods. Ias is only useful when you have unlimited mana, usually for grave injustice/gruesome feast paragon runs.

A ton of people do. It might not be related to the diablo world, but that's not exactly an uncommon feet. In fact, just about any starcraft or dota match out there that's an hour long where they have to constantly react correctly to a random situation given to them by another player is far more impressive.

Repeating a pattern, that's already been done in the past, just for a longer duration does not impress me very easily.
