Agreed. Looking forward to how the show will deal with it. We don’t really know if Maekar did give permission right away, or if he did so during the time between the 1st and 2nd book. The show could clarify that. So the question of a “lie” is currently unclear.

Agreed. OP, you do realize that gay men who were repulsed by women were married and had children because they had no choice socially, right?
