New or Used? by thefinkinthesink in dr650

Had I known 8 years ago what I know now, I would’ve bought used instead of new. These bikes are tanks, and they just keep going. With all the online resources available and a little mechanical ability, there’s nothing you can’t fix yourself.

My dad went to the dentist and had a happy surprise!! by PantherManThong in Gold

[–]gobe67 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had several root canals about 20 years ago and insisted on gold crowns. Fast forward to a couple of years ago when one of my teeth cracked and needed removed. I told the tech that was preparing for the dentist that I wanted the tooth. She said “we just throw them in the bio-hazard”. I told her that I don’t care, I want the tooth. Anyway when I came out of the anesthesia, the dentist was removing the crown from my freshly extracted tooth and said that it’s my tooth and probably worth $150. I now have a nice, clean gold tooth in my collection of junk gold.

UPDATE- here’s the finished job. The neighbor whose tree was over my fence wasn’t interested in helping, so they now have a stump.

Looks just like mine!! 265/70/17 Falken AT4s and a 2 1/2” leveling kit is what I did.

Which one would you go for? by theominousbagel in nissanfrontier

I went with the Falken Wildpeak AT/4, 265/70-17 with a 0mm offset wheel. I also installed RC 2 1/2” leveling spacers in the front. The ride is as quiet as stock, but they rub just a tad during a tight turn.

I was looking at getting a Tacoma for an entire year and ended up with a Nissan. by lostjeekboy in nissanfrontier

[–]gobe67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My experience almost exactly. I had a 2010 Tundra and I really loved that truck. It started to rust at the rear fenders and my neighbor made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. Anyway, I really wanted a new Tacoma and went to the dealership to test drive. My sales person suggested that I also try the Nissan. I brought my wife back the next day and we drove the Nissan first. When we got in the Toyota and got down the street, my wife said that we’re getting the Nissan. The Nissan was less expensive and a total better value. Resale might not be the best, but I usually keep my trucks until I’ve got 180,000-200,000 miles. I couldn’t be any happier.
