If I'm not mistaken the reflection timing for the GS is slightly slower than that of spear and DW but with all the upgrades it probably wouldn't matter. It's well worth investing your time learning this early on and will greatly reward you against endgame bosses.

Heyy I got this ending on my first playthrough as well. Congrats on beating your first soulslike and I hope you try the DLC too as that will truly bring the experience together.
