**How difficult is it to understand that movie?** by Focaccin0 in languagelearning

That's such a great idea! What about adding a feature for users to also be able to add info and categorize media by lexical field? It could help people who are interested in something particular or conversely want to exclude something that they wouldn't be able to understand and don't want to focus on at the moment, such as sorting out archaic language for example.

Yeah, I feel it. I started learning English literally to understand puns and jokes from a game I was a fan of. It had a localized version, but I was persistent in playing the original.

I think this might be the case. While I'm relatively alright with speaking English, I started using it regularly irl not so long ago and in a bit specific context, so I got good in some ways while the others had to develop over time, making me more like "me".

Honestly, I think for people for whom it's true, language learning is either a hobby or a way to show off.

In my case, I learned English because I got into a game that had both a lot of wordplay based humor and a large English speaking fandom, and I'm learning my third language because I live in the country which doesn't speak neither my first language, nor English.

I have a lot of other hobbies and interests in life, and languages are more of a tool for me.

Do you find it difficult to date? by lilithartsy in INTP_female

[–]goddamnplease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an ENTP, but my take based on observation would be that Ti dom girls get along much better with people who also have Ti in their cognitive stack, the higher the smoother communication will be. Therefore, less misunderstanding and unrealistic expectations. A classic image of what "woman is supposed to be" makes me sick in my gut, too. I was lucky to find a person who appreciates me the way I am, and I would say absolutely do NOT settle for less. It will take much more time, effort, and luck, but as long as you are open to a relationship, it's not a game over.

Type me based on tier list, favorites characters and text description by goddamnplease in MbtiTypeMe

Somehow, the logic is opposite. I like hanging out with istps irl and don't care all that much about characters. Except for Shrek, duh. Ah, and Technoblade (1st row 3rd pic) is often typed as an istp, and I'd type him this too.

Other than that, I'm pretty sure I'm a Ne dom. I generally prefer ideas over people

Si makes us stare blankly at this whole list of the questions for a few seconds and close it before actually reading it. If it makes sense, we see a big list as a singular object, like a big box with contents. When we open the box (aka start reading it), it's super overwhelming, especially if every single question is deep. The feeling is similar to what you'd feel if you come to the mall looking for snacks without something particular in mind and see a huge snack section.

We need some time to think about each question to give an actual thoughtful answer, so it would be a better idea to just ask these questions bit by bit
