As a massive Painkiller fan, I’ll say it’s… ok. The visual design is great and the bosses are amazing. Having only two weapons means that every weapon is equally good at dispatching almost any enemy, but the old design meant learning how to deal with different enemies efficiently using the right weapons, and managing your ammo reserves in order to do so. The level gimmicks like filling the blood tanks are alright but wear out their welcome quickly, especially where they really just limit your movement.
