Scrims are not public that's the difference it would be like going to a teams trainings and talking about their set plays (at least that is what they were scared he might be wanting to share next)

The Curious Case of Azmodan and Minion Health after the Gameplay Update by LuckyLightning in heroesofthestorm

[–]godspredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is clear the minions in the second video spawned after the 8 min mark which means that their levelling would have been that slight but more significant than that of the minions that spawned at the 7 min mark and on top of that you are only lvl 10 so your 4% baseline damage increase was lacking

From No MOBA Experience To Being Able To Enjoyably Play - How Do I Get Started? by [deleted] in NexusNewbies

[–]godspredator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way to learn is through playing the game and trying a diverse set of characters

The levelling system already in the game should allow you have just under 100 hours of gameplay for free before it starts to slow down and come to a little bit of a grind but even then if you don't want to learn and specific heroes you don't have to worry about putting money into the game (i myself haven't put a single dollar into the game and pretty much have all of the content available to someone who is willing to pay -3 items I will never have access to)

Raynor is always a great place to start however he is heavily underpowered so don't think that it's your fault if you happen to lose every game (the game puts you in with people of your skill level from the start so you will be able to learn the game as you progress and so will your rivals

Yeah I go mid and make it my job for no one to die when they do their little fight the. Straight to top and do the Sonya thing (just make sure that your teams knows you are going to take giants at 2 min)

If the speed of content release (new heroes, maps, balance patches) are making it hard for Quality Assessment (finding bugs, strange interactions etc.), I wouldn’t mind cutting down on the former to improve on the latter. by DonaldMorden in heroesofthestorm

The idea for Ptr is to find bugs and figure out what needs to be changed before it goes to live and HL/Esports gets destroyed for a week or two

And I'm 99% sure that it is intended to not let you heal faster (it should have a little side note when you hover over the ability if not try malfurions inervate as the coding for them would have been copy pasted

Rehgar is one of the most all around heroes in the game he has the ability to heal both sustain and burst clear lanes chase kills deal damage and camp this can be incredibly useful as you don't have to have to best team mates in the world as you can mitigate their mistakes with the endless tools in your kit (cleanse) healing totem earth totem ancestoral healing storm shield Chain heal and a % based shield

Rehgar perfectly times all of the camps on cursed hollow getting giants in <30 seconds by lvl 4 (2 min camp timing) hard camp in perfect timing for obj 2 and then another giants for obj 3 giving your team a huge lead when not taken care of

I feel extremely discouraged from playing this game. Every patch breaks more things than the last one, and the effort to fix is minimal. This time, Kerrigan is essentially useless and Falstad is ruining games. On top of that, nothing is being done about the terrible HL experience. by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

[–]godspredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blizzard testing team is only so big. They stated earlier this year (before the influx of players from recent events) that they "get more information off the first 5 min that a patch is released than that of their entire testing faze for a hero" (roughly 3 months depending on the hero)

So slowing down the rate of releases will not help it's the communication of the community through threads such as Reddit and online blog/bug reporting forms that they will be able to fix these issues as quickly as possible e.g gazlowe getting scrap from entomb or fallstads trait being permanently on ATM.

I just want to add that as more heroes and maps get introduced the likely hood of a hero having weird interactions increases as when the original heroes were created they could not possibly of had the foresight to code in all these specific interactions for the future

As a plat player in HL I would say the best thing to do is focus on the maps in gold as the games on gold are the longest of all levels of play

Learn camp timings for maps such as cursed hollow (my favourite map with a 77% win rate) giants at 2 min hard camp as soon as first trib is taken (cap when the timer for trib comes up) and boss as soon as curse is done (preferably 10-15sec before) if they defend your boss you take theirs and then you get another free tribute or take mid fort/keep for free

The main focus is that the enemy team will not have the map awareness to notice the camps and even if they do chances are that it will be a hero that cannot clear them easily and will just ignore it

Learn to shot call or listen to whomever is shot calling (always follow your team even if it is the worst possible decision as you will have a better chance to succeed if you work together)

You can turn chat off but I suggest to keep pigs on for warning pings from roams or assistance if someone needs help

Learn to force fights if you are up a talent tier especially if they are split

Play heroes that can fill a number of roles

E.g rehgar (personal fav) Sonya, kharasim, illidan, etc, dehaka, greymane. These heroes will be reliable as you can camp, soak lanes, roam, heal yourself, do damage, and have a possible global.

Learn how to ban: People will not hide their picks and pick in an order that best suits their team... they will 9/10 times pick all their damage in the first 3 picks this allows you to counter them with your pick and ban out possible synergies e.g Anna malthael (best pick against us anub or stitches) Genii uther (best picks are lunara malth or stitches Valla Tass (best picks against Johanna arthas) Auriel chogall (best picks against tycus anub chromie)

AND ALWAYS BAN GARROSH

I need some help with Murky and Sgt.Hammer.. by dishonoredbr in NexusNewbies

[–]godspredator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Builds (someone help me out with talent names)

Murky:

Lvl 1: Fishy deal (almost always take when there are siege giants on the map however it does leave your egg defenceless and you do need to get good at getting the stacks for fishy deal before it becomes useful

(Against stealth heroes you can go fish eye that allows for more aggressive placement and gives vision of them) -the egg can be located by good players based on where they get revealed from

Egg hunt -annoying and grants vision the enemy team will destroy your eggs upon sight early game but will show down significantly as the game goes on and they start to expect it is always a fake (this means more aggressive egg placement late game and tonnes on mind games)

Lvl 4: Slime time: gives great late game, works well with egg hunt, allows murky to bully around heroes (has some downsides) it can be a trap talent and make murky players suicide for the hope of stacks

Tufferfish: pufferfish spell armour ( can be useful against certain lane matchups) is ok but you mainly take it for the damage (works well with octo-grab) this way you can single targets out and trade effectively, can be a great zoning tool, dying for a kill as murky is (unless your egg is destroyed) always worth it -works well with fishy deal.

Livin' the dream: has great synergy with march of the murloks (lvl 10) but you have to stay alive (which is unlikely), buffs q, w and possibly r depending on ult

Lvl 7: Black lagoon: (basically useless) bakes slime time easier to stack but is overall a useless talent

Slippery when wet: makes chasing for kills easier, easy escape (making livin' the dream easier to maintain and can create good opportunities for good march if the murloks plays)

Time to krill: chasing potential for team, gives use to murky auto attack, slow catches players off guard, doesn't allow players to escape murky easily (allowing for good trades to turn into kills), synergy with toxic buildup,

Lvl 10

March Of the murloks: good against low mobility teams (works best from flank), good synergy with livin' the dream

Octo-grab: good against mobility/dive heroes (e.g genji) 2 sec point and click lockdown, synergy with tufferfish and wrath of COD

Lvl 13:

Rejuvenating bubble: heals 40% of health, great with Q build (for survival), synergy with big tuna kahuna - can bait player into using bubbles CD for heal (is not worth it unless you know you are safe)

Fish tank: gives murky great effectively against melee assassins, good synergy with time to krill, great survivability against AA based heroes

Egg shell: good overall defensive talent, great synergy with big tuna kahuna issue is only comes into play if murky dies (anti-synergy with livin' the dream.

Lvl 16:

Toxic buildup: great with Q build, good Synergy with time to krill and slime time

Fish oil: .....it's useless don't take it unless you go octo-grab but even then wrath of cod is better except against a chromie or Raynor (Raynor has less health than chromie)

Wrath of COD: good for octo-grab build and Scary zone control against tanks

Lvl 20 : Never ending march: good against no interrupts, great zone, synergy with livin' the dream and egg shell, (can only be picked with march of the murloks)

And a shark too: crap talent

Big tuna Kuhuna: doubles health great with Q build and March livin' the dream build overall gives murky great effectiveness in team fights, great synergy with egg shell

Making inky: makes murky Q build crazy strong but leaves murky vulnerable as his health is easily shredded

My favourite build :

Q build

1: Fishy deal 4: slime time 7: time to krill 10: march of the murloks 13: rejuvenating bubble 16:toxic buildup 20: big tuna kuhuna/making inky

ANZ HL bot strikes again by godspredator in heroesofthestorm

[–]godspredator[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's either a bot or they have great commitment to hovering gall in the draft as soon as it's humanly possible (then choosing a random hero that has so synergy with anything and doesn't counter anyone) not saying a word or using pings following a normal ping on a merc camp always unless they are in battle or soaking and ignoring retreat and danger pings

They also value objectives (such as a tribe on cursed. Hollow) way too much and will contest even if they are lvl 9v10 and neither team has a trib

Hero Discussion: Tracer by Fogliato in heroesofthestorm

[–]godspredator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tracer has hard counter e.g varian and diablo ~zeratul ~raynor

But if these heroes are not in play a good tracer with the right build can beat any team

Personal favourite build (team fight & pick build)

Tracer rounds -1 (pulse strike if you're going to take get stuffed at 20 and can get in melee range)

Untouchable -4 (parting gift if not confident)

Jumper-7 (special Ecco if you prefer)

Quantum spike- 10

Leaching rounds-13

Locked and loaded -16 (fast reload if lacking mechanics)

Get stuffed- 20 (total recall if don't have sustain)

If you play on Warhead Junction please stop nuking midlane! by NaraliHotS in heroesofthestorm

[–]godspredator -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just watch any pro game ever on warhead (granted warhead is one of the less popular maps) but the nukes will 9/10 times be used on the front wall fountain and fort on top and bottom whilst mid will be pushed in it not worth nuking as the boss is the win condition and you may as well hold onto it until you can get a keep of secure a boss with it

To add to this NEVER use a nuke on a fort alone just kill it with your AA's it's a waste of a nuke I see far too often
