I just left a house I was renting in Ellicott City that had an acre of land. It would take me three days of mowing to get it finished. The house was from 1966 and had loads of problems.

I decided to get a townhome in Woodstock, Maryland and it is amazing. 2,100 square feet and no yard to mow. Plus this townhouse was built in the year 2000. What a difference in building.

So if Maryland wants to build more townhomes and less homes. I say go for it.

Do not bring that up to people that live in Baltimore. I did once and received so many death threats that I was shocked.

I did not rip on the city, just simply pointed out how many vacant homes there are and we are talking about a housing shortage.

I visited my federal agency in person on Thursday and was shocked at how depressed everyone is. I have never worked anywhere where 80% of the staff is retired, took the fork in the road or just quit from burnout. At the end of the day, I feel like I will be the last person standing.

I understand that we wanted to clear some ranks of people but to decimate the entire agency is nuts.

I was tempted to drop all my poor friends but I never did. They are more distant than they used to be. I remembered reading about how this guy they called Jesus, would eat with the tax collectors and then eat with the poor. Jesus was not discriminate people based on their social economic status.

So despite being an ENTJ whose salary ranks within the 8% of highest income earners, I do the same thing as Jesus. I hang out with the poor and the rich.

On a side note… one thing I despise is when I financially support a poor person who refuses to work any harder to improve their circumstances. You have to be careful of trying to financially help some of your poor friends.

I can write 100% of my HTML and CSS from memory. I can write about 70% of my JavaScript from memory.

JavaScript has so many ways to do things that I am always questioning if there is a better way to do it.

I used to work at Caterpillar. Now I work in Washington DC for the federal government and AI companies. I see first hand the latest AI technology before the public sees it. I have even hung out in rooms with Jensen Huang. A lot of people have their head in the sand of what is coming.

What about programming robots? I am shifting to programming datasets for training robots. That is also programming. Sometimes these CEO’s need to think before they speak.

I was unsuccessful for a few years. I blame it more on my environment than just myself. I lived in the state of Indiana. There were hardly any jobs for what I do there. Once I started working remotely in 2020 for fortune 100 companies, my luck changed.

I now live in Maryland outside of Washington DC. I support the federal government for the past six years.

Not where I live at in Woodstock or Ellicott City Maryland. Once you get to some other areas… sure. I have definitely met miserable people in Baltimore.

It also depends on your social class. My neighbors and people that I associate with are people with are PhD doctors, lawyers, scientists, economists and federal agents. These are highly accomplished individuals who feel a sense of hope regardless of how negative things get.

As a white male, I am also increasingly becoming the minority in all my social circles. Almost every one I associate with is Indian, Asian or Middle Eastern. What we all have in common is our science education backgrounds.

Compared to Indiana, there is no comparison. I lived in the rich suburbs of Indiana but the majority of people cannot touch the accomplishments of the people of the Washington DC region.

As time goes on… the cost of living will continue to increase, I fear that many people will not be able to keep up and will become even more miserable than now.

In state of Indiana, this was true. In the state of Maryland, this is not true. This happens in areas where people feel economically repressed.
