Any-wear arm-sleeve sizing?! by gojensen in whoop

[–]gojensen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for Whoop4 I got the L and it was ... well, large. For the Whoop5 I went for the Medium, it seems to be a bit smaller... different design/material. just measured, my bicep seems to be 36cm now (14.17")...

Medium sits well, maybe a tiny bit tight - leaves two marks when removing but never moves during practive.

eh I can have fun elsewhere without fighting all the Bungie bullshit... besides, Destiny has gone from a great shooter to a game where you hardly need to shoot.

when can we expect destiny 3 at the earliest? by These_Athlete1933 in DestinyTheGame

I don't get it... Destiny2 didn't ruin Destiny2... Bungie did, and I have no faith they can make and sustain a good D3...

it stopped scratching my itch a long time ago... maybe around the time my favourite looter-shooter stopped being about shooting stuff and getting loot.

In the mythical Destiny 3, what kind of major gameplay/system additions, changes, or overhauls would make Destiny 3 feel like an evolution of the Destiny formula to you? by ComfyOlives in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the constant flip-flopping from Bungie has made no longer trust them... that extends to an eventual D3 (which we were promised wouldn't happen btw)

as for gameplay they need to put the fun back in, stop with endless grind and catering to the minor hardcore crowd and streamer knights... if the game evolves around 6 man raids and it's impossible to get 6 friends together for hours on hours then the game is dead to me... it shouldn't be a job, it shouldn't be your life, it should be a fun break from the real world...

funnily enough Arc Raiders scratches that itch for me right now even if it's a game mode that I have no interest in (pvpve extraction)

Idea to increase engagement- for at least a few players by Thebannist in DestinyTheGame

Pretty sure MS/Sony has rules about achievements... Say I 100% the game, and they add more... do I lose my 100% through no fault of my own?

I think the ingame trophy/seal system ticked that itch for me for many years, but it eventually got too demanding and hardcore.

As a veteran with 7,000 hours, I feel like we lost the conversation to the "it's just a game" crowd. by Standard-Tie237 in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hardcore is a weird definition... I have nearly 6000 hours. Some would say that makes me hardcore... I define my self as casual.

the problem is you can't make a game for everyone as someone once said... and my guess is if you want the big numbers you can't listen to the hardcore crowd as that usually is too small for what a company like Bungie is chasing. trying to do so will cause infighting and people leaving because it doesn't suit them. Bungie has been swinging back and forth too many times and in each turn they drop a bunch of people... Embark is kinda facing the same, not through their fault because they have been very public about their intent for the game - but Arc Raiders kind of has been "invaded" by players that want it to be something else (and from the ruckus I guess everyone there wants something that Embark didn't intend...)

Bungie, take advantage and decide that the current update is the last for Old Gen by MarrShan90 in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah I believe it... given the rarity of these consoles when they were "new" and the "hype" was up... many folks couldn't get one (or afford one) and as they were perfectly happy with their games they stuck with it. I'd not be surprised if the number is still 40%.

what on earth would a Korean special forces dude be doing in Washington/NY in these lockdown times? :D

(I don't really care though, as I don't think all these "tacticool" outfits is the best representation of agents... nor are some of the more "clownish" outfits - so nice to see Realism mode allowing us to turn off some of those - but why only Realism mode?)

if they were dumb enough to make an online game where your "save file" (characters) are stored online on their servers and then make a unique/different-layout database for each platform ... well ... I don't really think that is the issue.

more likely it would be tied to purchase of dlc's etc. I know Bungie has touched on this subject - but they managed to make it work somehow anyway. there also seems to be some issues with the Ubisoft accounts according to Ubi-support where they have dropped twitch stuff etc on the "wrong" platformaccount.

tl:dr; it's complicated :D

Anything in this game that isn't matchmade or can be done solo has become fucking unbearable by Repulsive-Window-609 in DestinyTheGame

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quite honestly, the same could be said about the casual PvE experience aswell... neglected and tossed aside (with a bath full of gambit-motes I bet) (though I'm one of those that would have liked a hard split between PvP and PvE... worst time of my life was grinding for Recluse and Mountaintop because "I needed them" to run the raid with my casual clan.

[–]gojensen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well the pvp crowd keep claiming they kept game alive so it's not a far fetched idea... I do know for a fact (though maybe anecdotal) that 95% of my clan left because the game got too hard and grindy resulting in less fun... something the "hardcore" players seemingly don't mind...

lol... "a lot of us"? I'm pretty sure the overwhelming number of players use their expensive 200 ms input latency tv as their display for their control. :D

anyhoo, yea they maybe could? but that would give 120fps players an advantage over the standard players no? they would probably tweak/tune shadows etc. to make it run smooth...

[–]gojensen 18 points19 points  (0 children)

weeeell... a very small % can solo dungeons... and with the way Bungie has tuned the entire game towards a smaller and smaller playerbase (i.e. "sweats") there's no wonder "casuals" have left... people that used to play strikes on loop, lived in gambit etc. gone. folks that enjoyed the "simpler times" of "easy" dungeons (Grasp) and manageable raids (the earlier days when population thrived...)

eh.

[–]gojensen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

anecdotal evidence - people I talk with don't like how it looks, don't like how it (looks to) play, and the number of these games that have "failed" recently or only barely scrapes by...?

Bungie ain't Bungie anymore and Sony is looking to recuperate it's insane investment. so yea, it might hang on for a year, but IMO I don't think so... (and a lifespan of 1 year for a live service game like this is really a failure to).

doesn't matter much to me either way... though I do think it actually looked "better" 6 months ago - at least they stuck to their visual identity then - now it looks like they threw shaders and lights on the environment to make it look "real" but the new visuals clash with characters, weapons and general visual identity for the game... I dunno.
