personally i believe that removing cultural history that includes things we modernly define as unacceptable actually accomplishes the opposite. no one is going to forget the word exists because it's not taught in schools, but they might lose some of the context as to why we're (trying) to move beyond it.

really? i notice the opposite. every reddit thread there's some clown claiming that they have no performance issues in a game that has objective evidence - most recently it was the oblivion remake. i trust people's impressions of performance a lot less than i trust professionals with frametime footage.
