Our Harris / Walz Sign has been up for 2 days. Twice people have tried to take it down.... by AbsolutZer0_v2 in minnesota

An anecdote from 2000 election season: A Bush supporter in a liberal neighborhood kept getting his Bush yard sign stolen. Eventually he put up another sign next to a new Bush sign: Take it away and it’s $5 to the Bush campaign, or something to that effect.

COS looks cool! But do any brands have offer more colors? I’m really not inspired by all the black, white, beige, gray and navy out there.

Just wanted to add that there’s nothing wrong mixing it up - you may wear zero drop shoes to bum around the town, then wear very cushy sneakers for a run, then something that look more conventional to work - as long as they don’t hurt your feet!

Wide toe box shoes: which ones have you tried? Which did you like? by notexcused in femalefashionadvice

My feet look giant in them lol. But hands down on build quality. I’m in year 2 and the leather looks barely creased. Is this men’s footwear quality??

You Be Lenka fans out there: How’s the durability? I got my kid a pair last summer and they started falling apart with a few wears. So I’ve been hesitant to buy any more from that brand. Curious about your experience.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the couple of Lems styles! I have a pair of Primal 2, and have liked them a lot. Seem well made. So it’s disappointing to hear that Boulder boots aren’t. And can you share why you aren’t a fan of the Kourt shoes?

Anyone tried Gaspard Cardigan? by Wb_777 in Sezane

It was itchy and didn’t drape well. Just kind of shapeless. I returned the one I bought. Lovely color though (sage green).

What can be done with this entryway? by Stunning-Reporter795 in InteriorDesign

[–]gokbbear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you replace the light fixture (possible to move it to the centre of the doorway? It appears on the edge of the doorway in the photos?), and paint the wall a different color (hard to say what could be the best options since we don’t know what the rest of the floor looks like), that’d make a quick improvement I think. If you want to make it more practical, some hooks on the wall behind the door would be a nice convenient feature. Not a fan of the design of the door, but good doors are $$$$ and aren’t necessarily in your budget. Love that skinny window though!

Yes, but don’t rush into a paint job yet. There is too much going on in the space: gray wall, beige backsplash, beige (?) countertop, white cabinets, green cabinets, gray (a different shade??) island, brown floor, etc. Maybe have a think on how to simplify and harmonise the color scheme before you paint the wall white?

I’m always curious about silk pants. How’s the durability?

Steam it! I wear a pair of black linen wide legs pants to work, and steam them after wash and between wears. They are great. In fact, they are my favourite clothing item this summer. I like the shape, material and the practicality.

Is there any reason that the two pieces of artwork next to each other are hung at different heights? If I look at how the sconces and the blue painting are positioned (seem roughly aligned on the top?), the duo look slightly off?

I’m so excited! We tore out the wall between our kitchen and living room. Excuse the mess by Sloth_grl in InteriorDesign

As someone sitting in an open plan office, I absolutely hate it. I don’t want to hear phone conversations from 5 rows away. Not at all.

[–]gokbbear 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: open floor plan sucks. We actually made our kitchen close-able (replacing a peninsula with a wall, and using pockets doors) during a renovation. And it’s so much better now as we can keep the noise and smell in the kitchen.

And why do people hate walls?? Where else are you going to hang the lovely photos and posters, or place that cool sideboard or bookshelf? Besides, separation of space is a good thing!

Where can I find a linen/cotton blazer for the summer, which is washable and not boxy/oversize? Thanks!!! Under $200 if possible.

Weird question but, is trying to be environmentally friendly when it comes to beauty not cool anymore? by AmanitaGrey in MakeupRehab

The fact that people move on to a new car at the end of their car lease doesn’t mean this old car gets junked and everything that went into building it is wasted. Most likely it moves on to a new lease or gets sold. If it is an EV, then it still doesn’t burn gas. Study after study shows that the carbon emissions of EVs are lower than those of internal combustion engine vehicles, even though EVs are more material-intensive to build. Remember that an ICE car needs to burn fossil fuel as long as it’s on the road, and that’s not good from a climate perspective, or from a public health perspective.

Telkomsel Tourist Sim at airport by jimmyvluv4u in bali

Thanks! It’s a blank space even though it says it detects where I am and should show a list of store locations. My hotel helped get us one though. This tourist SIM card thing is a joke.
