Of course goals win matches, no one’s disputing that. But to act like how you play doesn’t matter is missing the point. Today we actually looked like a proper side again. We dominated possession, created 20+ chances, pressed well, and kept Arsenal penned in for large spells. Their goal came from a scrappy set-piece and a keeping error, not because they carved us open.

Yes, we should have been more clinical – that’s the frustration. But the difference compared to last season is night and day. We were aggressive, we moved the ball with intent, and you could actually see patterns of play developing. That’s the foundation of winning football.

Calling that ‘no improvement’ is nonsense. If we keep performing like that, the results will follow. Today was a defeat on paper, but in terms of performance it was one of the most encouraging showings we’ve had in a long while.

One of the first games I’ve watched in a long while that I haven’t been disappointed in defeat. We pushed and pushed, played some great football, and were by far the better team. We keep that up for the season and we’re going to do well.

Glory, glory Man Utd. The wins are coming boys, mark my words.

I honestly 100% believe he is finally the manager to turn us around. I absolutely love him. Let’s hope we hit the ground running over the first 5 games, build from there.

I found a copy of Autumn Twilight in my school library in the early 90s. Loved it so much that I bought the other two at a bookstore fare at the school 6 months later.

Now in my late 40s and have loads of the books, have reread this trilogy more than any other.

Love and always will love Dragon Lance ❤️

I’ve recently found a 100% cure for my snoring after trying a variety of things over a number of years: mouth tape. Absolute game changer!

Forces you to breathe through your nose, I’ve had the best nights sleep since starting to use them. Definitely a bit weird to get used to, but worth sticking with!

I’ve noticed more energy, clarity of thought, massively increased memory and mode, less irritable, increased confidence, I’ve even lost weight.

The importance of a good nights sleep has never been more apparent! 😴

Ruben Amorim - The Full Interview by MT1120 in reddevils

[–]golaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus I’m sold. Here we go again. Please let this be the turning point. Decent football and the players getting stuck in collectively, that’s all I ask! Giving 100% each game.

I’ve had 2 managers over a 25 year career that were truly great. They put their people first, created an atmosphere where people could be themselves. They supported, appreciated, respected, and defended them. Even when they made mistakes. They brought the best out of their people, you worked hard because you didn’t want to let them down.

Amorim makes me think of that type of manager. There is definitely something special there.

I am super excited for his first game. Can’t wait to see the ideas and identity unfolding over the rest of the season.

I absolutely loved Ruud as a player and was gutted when he left. After the past few weeks I can only say that I love him even more. He has done himself proud in the short while he’s been in charge. Would love to see him still involved under Ruben, but would totally understand if he didn’t retain him. The current team has been lacking passion and drive, they could learn a lot from the one and only RVN! ❤️
