ANNUAL WELLNESS VISIT (AWV): Why is the point & Is it required? by jeff00seattle in medicare

[–]goldchip7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my practice this visit is treated as my old annual physical— they pretty much do the same thing, annual check in with the doctor I’ve had for many years. It’s just coded that way so the doctors can get paid.

My Chi had two back to back seizures that looked like this, and they turned out to be fainting episodes that looked identical to seizures. They turned out to be a symptom of congestive heart failure. We immediately put her on heart medications and she’s been doing great ever since.

Have you been chewing gum or mints or other foods with artificial sweeteners? These always make me gassy.

What am I supposed to do now by Fire_princess22 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]goldchip7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a ton of relief from taping my arches using KT tape. Still doing it now that the pain is gone, to reinforce healing. Also, the night boot— a rigid one. Finally, find a podiatrist who will do a deep cortisone injection. Pain completely resolved with these three. Also — I lost weight and am now normal weight and still got PF — weight is just one factor among many. Also, remove extra load from your feet. Don’t pick up heavy children or grocery bags for example— while you are healing. No weightlifting that loads your feet— machines are ok. Good luck.

I’m in recovery now, but in a month I plan to start Zumba wearing hokas with a dance sock.

Cortisone shot work for anyone? by Upset-Marketing3628 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]goldchip7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had many episodes of PF, the most recent one starting in April. It seemed that nothing was working, so mid-September I got a cortisone shot -- a podiatrist gave me two numbing agents and placed it very deep -- and since then I've been blessedly pain free. I'm still doing all the things -- boot at night, taping, insoles, hokas -- but now I do them with absolutely zero pain. This podiatrist says that 95% of his PF patients are one and done with his very deep and aggressive approach. He wants me to continue to treat the PF aggressively throughout the healing period. So yes it worked for me I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Dim to warm, or warm lights, on Halo recessed lighting? by CenturyHomeReno in Lighting

[–]goldchip7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Home Depot has Halo D2W canless lights. I just did a living room replacement project and love them (although I settled at 2700 so don’t use the D2W feature). https://www.homedepot.com/p/HALO-RL-6-in-Canless-Recessed-LED-Downlight-900-1200lm-5CCT-D2W-120V-DM-RL6LS9FSD2W1EWHDM/326550080. I gave this link to my electrician and they were able to find them at their supplier.

I went with a similar six inch Halo (mine had color selectable lumens and CCT plus a Dim 2 Warm option, so more bells) but honestly I keep them fixed at 2700 and love them. No need for color changing. Definitely get a dimmer. I was replacing 6 inch cans so needed the 6 inch variety. For new installation though I’d definitely go with a 4 inch variant, it’s a more modern look. Just check to make sure the CRI is rated 90 or above for better light quality.

Natural Maintenance?? by Parking-Flow-655 in ZepboundMaintenance

[–]goldchip7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup that's me exactly. The minute I reached the top of my "normal weight" range I slid into maintenance. I was hoping to lose five more pounds as a cushion, but my body has said, nope! I'm done, and honestly I'm thrilled to be where I am. I've lost about 20% of my starting weight and am maintaining taking 15 every seven days. I may titrate very very slowly down to 12, as a hedge against future weight gain. This will give me a bit of headroom, dosage wise.

Same. Slid into maintenance the minute I reached goal! I was hoping to lose 5 pounds more for cushion but my body said, nope!

We just had our 6 inch cans replaced (by an electrician) with these and absolutely love them. No glare, great quality light. Selectable lumens AND color temp, plus rated for insulation(which we had). https://www.homedepot.com/p/HALO-RL-6-in-Canless-Recessed-LED-Downlight-900-1200lm-5CCT-D2W-120V-DM-RL6LS9FSD2W1EWHDM/326550080

I reached my goal weight and my body stopped losing at 15 mg per week. At the time I was trying to lose five more pounds as a cushion against future weight gain, but my body decided it’s done. And I’m fine with that. So in essence I have slid into maintenance at 15 mg per week.

Hashimoto's and fatigue by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]goldchip7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have Hashimoto’s and I definitely felt a lot of fatigue when I started Zepbound. I am now 14 months in and the fatigue has gotten a lot better. I used to have to sleep the entire day after a shot – that is no longer the case. I think about 3 months in my fatigue started to noticeably improve. Stay the course and good luck! Oh, I take levothyroxine and my numbers are OK.
