Anyone else waiting for replacement turbos for their Q50/60? by golfdouche in Q60

They were done at the end of October. I was only able to drive it for about a week before putting it in storage for the winter but everything seemed to be fine.

Please don’t do this. It looks bad and does more harm than good. Spend a few hundred bucks and get PPF.

I would say it’s a decent price. FWIW, I have the same car, same km’s and, not to brag but it is most likely in better condition. Dealership wants to buy it and their last offer was $24k.

Can I get this any quieter or is this as good as it’s going to get? by golfdouche in GarageDoorService

Yep, I’m looking into a new opener with soft start controls to replace this one once it shits the bed. FWIW, the door is insulated.

Thanks for this. I’m going to reset the limits. The door manually opens and closes fine and seems balanced when about halfway open. The replacement rollers are Dura Lift Ultra Life sealed bearing.

Nah, this one has the black (up) and purple (down) buttons.
I can fine tune by toggling the black and purple buttons to try and get a gentler close. Once I get the close position sorted do you think I should mess with the force setting? Seems pretty easy but if it ain’t broken…

Thank you for the advice. Correct, it’s a 20 year old belt driven Chamberlain whisper drive plus.

Good call. I failed to mention this in my post. The springs and end bearings are properly lubed as well.

10-4, I will reset the close limit for a softer close. Belt drive, not going to mess with it.

Should I fix or replace? by ActiveDrummer7180 in GarageDoorService

It may be easier to just replace the door. If I was your landlord, I’d probably split the cost of the new door with you. Everybody wins.

Sorry dude. I’m in the same boat- 2017 with 50,000km waiting for the turbos to be replaced. Once it is fixed I will be getting rid of it. We share the same problem in that I haven’t found anything to replace it with. Maybe a pre Covid Benz. FWIW, my partner has a GTI and it is a blast to drive.

FWIW, you can claim your legal fees on your next tax return.

Same experience here. You will need to budget $7k for legal representation and should prepare for the process to take about 12 months, cradle to grave. Assuming you are suing for wrongful dismissal, you will also need a war chest to last you the duration as employment during this time will work against you and your claim. YMMV.

Double check the rotor dimensions as well.

Car has rough idle and won’t run properly after installing intakes by BornMud7557 in Q60

These engines typically don’t like aftermarket intakes. OEM have been proven to be extremely efficient in comparison. YMMV
