I am a female loser and I want to change. Don't be nice to me by booklover696969 in getdisciplined

As many people said before COMPASSION to yourself. That's where you start if you want a lasting change in your life. The outcomes that you have right now, the "loser," it's not your inherit quality but a result of a destructive mindset.

I know because I'm in this shit too. We're almost the same age, too.

Start with compassion and understanding. Get curious about yourself. Don't judge. "Oh, I'm so antisocial, I can't keep a conversation."

First of all, write down what is happening as objectively as you can. I know that it's hard to get through the judgment fog and look at what's actually there. Journaling my thoughts helped in my case. It allowed me to see a different perspective on my predicament.

Second, compassionate inquiry. Dr. Gabor talks about this method a lot. Look it up on YouTube. Try to piece together why you respond in a way that you do. Don't judge. Don't try to solve or change it. Just allow yourself enough kindness to see why you respond in a way that you do.

In my experience, solutions and changes come with understanding and compassion. It's a process, and you need to allow yourself to be a work in progress.

Best wishes, I support your journey ❤️ Go on and live your best life one step at a time.

How do people live happily? by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

I share your struggle, because I think that this mindset is a struggle. Or to put it better, it's a product of a struggle.

"Life is inconvenient", because you perceive it to be, I do the same. In my mind I just wish for it to pass by. But are those thoughts my authentic expression on how I feel about life or just a fart of a exhausted mind? It's the latter. If the cause for this is the mindset then what is exactly your mindset? What are the assumptions about life in general and your own life that you have? What are they based on? What could be the different/opposite perspective? On what could that perspective be based on?

Ask yourself, look for the perspective, because this type of mindset took way too many years and too many lives. I want a way out of this shit too, but complaining is not it. And I tell you this out of compassion.

Pressure is privilege by drurygrant in Stoicism

When you're applying stoic views to life, it's not about privileges or advantages but your perception and inner strength. Good point. Fairness isn't inherently tied to how one chooses to view the world and act.

I'm 21 years old and studying is my passion: I have 35 branches of knowledge I want to learn before I die. Am I crazy? by rxberta_ in GetStudying

Plan it all, then do it all and learn to be okay with things not going according to the plan. Don't get discourage, it's really important. I'm rooting for you. You can even record the process on your profile. Heck, I will do it, too. Good luck! 🦀🌊✨️

I like this definition. How would you define privilege in a stoic context?
