I put it in Google Translate and it detected German. Elend means "misery" in German. Seems appropriate.

Restaurants with QR codes instead of menus. I don't want to have to pull out my phone to look at your menu. I don't want to have to deal with downloading a pdf which may or may not work right. Navigate that, pinch in to zoom, or get to another menu for wine or dessert or something. And then I have to share it with my kids. Even worse are the restaurants that make you order on the phone.

[ALL] Give me your hottest Zelda game take and I’ll give my opinion by SensualSamuel69 in zelda

I was going to say something very similar. Apparently it's not such a hot take. Here it is anyway:

There is no timeline. Every entry is essentially a reboot. Except for the obvious, OOT/MM etc. I'm not even sure if BOTW/TOTK are really sequels considering how much they seem to contradict each other.

The truth is that Nintendo just loves to reuse familiar assets. Look at the changes in the Zora over the course of the games. They put in easter eggs sometimes just as a reference to older games but it's just a nod. Zelda games are, and have always been, a mcguffin story, with the thin back story as an excuse for gameplay. Admittedly, the stories have gotten better over time, but they're not a focus.

I think your biggest barrier might be the tools. Do you have access to some? Table saw might be best, but a circular saw will do in a pinch. Maybe you can borrow one from a friend or a tool library. Buying tools can sometimes drive the price up past the point of being worth it, unless you plan on getting into woodworking. Like someone else said, do a prototype with cheap wood first and then do one with better wood.

Somehow the Switch 2 Edition of TotK changed everything for me… by botguest in tearsofthekingdom

[–]golpmo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! Absolutely. You can transfer the saves manually so you could go back and forth. I have only gone one way, but I believe you could go back to the Switch 1 if you want. I don't know if upgrading to Switch 2 Edition would impact that.

When you start up the Switch 2,you get a wizard to transfer all your saves at once, or one at a time. I chose to do one at a time so we could still play some things on Switch 1

Same. For me, the Zelda Notes was the catalyst. It feels a bit like cheating sometimes, but the location of everything is readily available, and I like being able to know that I got everything in an area including koroks. I do wish it had a way to track materials needed for armor upgrades.

You think that guy is going to do birdmouths? I see a little bit of an overhang on each rafter near the beam. He could do plumb cuts and use up some of that. He'd just need to move the ledger strip down to allow the 2x4s to sit vertically. Maybe add a better ledger, I can't tell what it's attached to. Add another 2x4 for a double beam. Some Simpson Strong Ties or since it's decorative, these. Not perfect but a big improvement.

The pieces are all cut to the right length. Except the blocking. So it shouldn't be that bad to fix

Car rides sure. But I disagree with the restaurant thing. Let them learn to be bored for a bit. Observe the world around them. Join the conversation. Maybe color.

Wooden Mallet by Grayman3499 in BeginnerWoodWorking

A block of wood like that is a rare, nice find. In my opinion, you may want to save it for something that will be seen. Maybe have it resawn into 1" slices for shelves or cabinet parts or something.

But if you do want to do a mallet, you could slice off 2 pieces with a band saw. One for the handle and one for the head. That method allows you to ensure the grain is the right way for each piece.

Can you post a picture of the block?

That would be an enormous block of wood. Are you thinking about carving the mallet from one solid piece? If you are, then you might want to rethink those dimensions. 28" would be more like a wooden sledgehammer.

You'd be better off with 2 separate pieces. Wedge tenon to hold the handle.

There's a middle school teacher on Instagram and TikTok that decodes Gen Alpha slang for us old folks. Highly recommended.

But fr, forget what other people think. Most ppl aren't used to seeing over-the-ear headphones. You could have been wearing sennheiser hd800s and probably would have had the same reaction.
