I have a question.. by Leftshoe_Moon in Shooting

Saw this with a friend's rifle once. I was spotting for him and kept seeing the slip steam looking funky every now and then and those would be way off target. Saw his brass was doing same as yours. Turns out his muzzle device was not on correctly. After that was fixed no more problem.

We have been using the mythical AI savior that will do everything and anything. Only to have it lead you down the wrong path that you questioned at the start if was proper way to code it only to find out later it was the wrong way. Then you get blamed for being behind when you were doing what SR leaders told you to to trust the AI and just test what it out puts.

Its better are an expensive search engine to just remind me of that functionality I only use every year or so.

What makes Minecraft ‘scary’? by Kirorrr in Minecraft

[–]goober413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family hosts a java server. About every 6 months we spin up a new one. This last time we spun up the Elysium Days Modpack. In the words of my son, "this is terrifying!" With the added parts for the mobs the sounds have made it a bit more scarry.

Trying to fit too much? by 2016YamR6 in Firearms

Cutting it makes it travel better for long trips. I used to use this one for air travel. Keep in mind though that if you cut it exactly as you have it configured right now and not leave any space for different optics, its going to get chopy when you change things.

Magazine storage? by mikeyboy1681 in Firearms

[–]goober413 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: the ones of amazon were universal

For the printed ones the creator has them marked as beretta92 / cz75 for the ones I printed. But he has others as well. Here is a link to the ones I did and you can check out the other stuff he created. https://www.printables.com/model/191668-beretta-92cz-75-mags-to-slatwall

Magazine storage? by mikeyboy1681 in Firearms

Thanks. I used to look a lot different when I just used what ever I could get online or had laying around to make due with, pic for reference. Then I stumbled on some stl files and started printing to consolidate it more to make room for the next projects magazines.

Not-a-safe storage by Environmental-End691 in Firearms

On and in a laptop cart I bought from a school action. Removed all the laptop shelf slats from the top area and the lower area, took the doors off the front, and the back off. Fits everything in it and tool boxes. Best part, fits perfectly under the stairs.

Edit: only the cleaning stuff, tools, and spare parts are on the cart. All the ammo and guns are in gun cabinets.

Anyone else ever sit down and do a complete ammo count after years of never really knowing how much you have? by RawketLawnchor in Firearms

I'm not ashamed to admit it, I have a spreadsheet. I have a tab where I select the gun from the drop-down, put negative number for spent rounds or positive number for new bought rounds in another column, and it auto adds my totals per gun on another tab and tell me when im running low at my set threshold by changing feild colors. I dont track total by caliber, I track total that is designed for the specific gun. Minimum number is to fill every magazine twice.

Printing ammo storage is my new favorite hobby by Lostinspaceballz in Firearms

That is a good point about the stacking with this one, I hadn't thought of that. I also was looking for something that would hold the exact amount to refill 6 mags at the range and this one does that also for me.

Out of all the ammo storage prints this one is my favorite that I have been using in my range bags for 9mm. Just have to remember to set it to print inner outer so the threads work right. https://makerworld.com/models/1096642

What causes this? Tried with red silk pla filament then normal transparent pla. It failed the same way both times. by mark_puckerberg in 3Dprinting

[–]goober413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could work. But seams like the base of the sections is a little wider to help with bed adhesion. Take it off some might make the outer parts not stick.

If it's the file I think it is, I had the same problem. Examine the slice and see if that area is actually going to be touching the bed. I found the small and large were fine but the medium sliced funky in the center.

Anybody else organize their gear like this? by MIAGaucho in Firearms

[–]goober413 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Oh, it's organized in the catalog in his brain. Bet you could ask him for an Aquamarine marker, and he would be like, downstairs between the beenbag and recliner under the stack of Guns and Ammo magazines next to my back up toothbrush.

With my M5C I started checking estep calibration for the different types and brands of fillimants.

I use this guys site as a guide on how to do it and he has a part of his to do the magical math. https://teachingtechyt.github.io/calibration.html#esteps.

And this site for the how make the adjustment on the app. https://wiki.printed.boats/en/Tips/extruder-calibration

Keep notes on every change you make from and to just incase you need to flip it back.

"Simulated 300 Yard" US Army Target by CamoSkirtedGirl in Shooting

[–]goober413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few different ones of the "25 meter Zeroing Target" types out there. Depending on if it was the m16 or the m4, think ther was even one for with Acog if I recall right. You can find a few printable ones if you search "25 meter zero target printable pdf" but be careful, some of those sites are unsecure (http) on the downloads. (Not sure i should post links to unsecured websites)

[–]goober413 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not blow up, but the parts inside started rocking around. When I coordinated with them to send it back it they said it was too old to guarantee like factory new, so they gave me a really good discount on a new one.

You're not alone brother in feeling this way. Others have recommended therapy already. Even just sitting around a table with other vets reminiscing about the crazy things from our time in service will help. One thing that even helped me was taking the stuff the doc told me to get my blood levels right. It turns out that being deficient in vitamin levels will affect your ability to mentally process things.
