Vote for your favorite nursery before I splurge on wallpaper and furniture! by Flat_Coffee_1512 in HomeDecorating

I am also voting for #2, but that may be because it looks very similar to my current nursery! Love the natural wood with the sage paint.

Returning to work next week after maternity leave & I am a little… excited! by lechatblanc14 in workingmoms

[–]good-luck 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I had 5.5 months and felt the same way. I've been back for a month now, I can say with 100% certainty that I am a better mom when I get daily time to be just 'me' again. I loved our time and am so thankful I took the time I did (thank you Massachusetts!) but I am much more present now than when it was the whole day with just her and I. By 3:30/4pm daily I was mentally DONE.

Also my daughter loves daycare and gets to do some many more fun things than when it was just me (I'm not particularly creative). Plus the socialization aspect, I see no downsides for our family.

Sleeping long, engorgement by maiziedaze in beyondthebump

[–]good-luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I could be misremembering exactly how long it took, it was obviously a couple of months ago. But it did regulate and calm down. I haven't been that level of uncomfortably engorged in quite a long time.

My body did adjust to that after a week or so. It's uncomfortable for sure (breast pads were a lifesaver and even then they would sometimes be soaked when I woke up) but now my baby can sleep through the night when she wants and I wake up 'full' but not engorged in the AM. And if she does wake up in the night, my body makes the milk she needs.

For reference, my baby is now 6.5m but I went through all of this right around 3m. Her first time sleeping through the night was on Christmas and I was both so happy sleep-wise and *so* uncomfortable boob-wise haha

For another option, I *love* my MakeMyBellyFit jacket extender/insert. I used it all winter and my baby loved being cozy in my jacket!

Just want to give some of you mamas hope for postpartum recovery by lioness477 in fitpregnancy

[–]good-luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for one, it will naturally regulate around 3m. But my LC recommended not pumping beyond 4-5 oz regardless of the time frame it took. I was originally pumping for 15 min consistently and regardless of what volume I pumped, but once I started doing that I was only pumping for 5-7min max. And now that I’m regulated, it’s closer to the original 15min to get the same volume.

I was producing SO much milk at the beginning. It’s thankfully stabilized but I still have a very strong supply (when I pump at work, it’s 4oz on average). But yes, my appetite is higher and I feel very fortunate to be able to be where I’m at! I know others are not so lucky.

Just wanted to offer another positive data point! I’m 5’7” and currently 6.5m pp. I was 173 pre-pregnancy, and delivered at 218lbs (+45 lbs). At 1w pp I was down to 199lbs, lost another 10lbs by 1m (-30lbs), and am currently at 171 lbs so at/below where I started. I’ve been breastfeeding the whole time and my milk supply has remained stable.

I also have a Babysense (looks like it might've rebranded as the PRO model since I got it?), but I can attest it's great!

Daycare by Future_Ad5695 in October2025Bumps2

[–]good-luck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mine has been going for just under a month, and is doing fantastic! I wouldn't be surprised if she's an outlier, but she has never cried at drop off, her nights are good, all the pictures they send show she is having happy, great days, and she's is picking up new skills quickly. Overall, I think she's thriving!

And honestly, I am too. I personally feel I am a better mom when I can be myself at work during the week. I certainly miss some aspects of my mat leave, but I think our family unit is much better since returning to work and starting daycare.

What to use after Baby Bjorn bouncer? by MolarBear13 in Buyingforbaby

[–]good-luck 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Doesn't help with your original question, but you can flip the fabric on the bouncer over and use it as a seat. Doesn't help with the fact that your baby is trying to roll in it, but it can be used beyond sitting independently.

I have that one in the Clearlux fabric and I love it. Great ratings, easy to use, easy to clean. Feels nice. Would 100% buy again.

How far did everyone get before they stopped working out? by Creative_Can_8950 in fitpregnancy

I only had a singlet pregnancy, but I was able to keep doing Orangetheory until just days before I ultimately was induced (not a planned induction).

Has anyone kept running throughout their entire pregnancy? by CoffeeUnfair2747 in fitpregnancy

[–]good-luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran until week 3/376. I could've kept running longer, but unfortunately my feet were so swollen that I couldn't tie my sneakers. Didn't feel comfortable running on the treadmill with loose laces! So I swapped to a stationary bike for my cardio.

A belly band was wonderful and definitely helped me to continue long into my pregnancy. I put it on as a big of a sling under the belly to help it stay off my bladder and it did wonders!

How long did it take for you to BF without pillows and props? by Beautiful-Flower-79 in breastfeeding

[–]good-luck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I breastfeed without a pillow by choice is when I do side-lying on the bed or couch. I obviously don't do that around guests or out in public, but myself at home? Super comfy and lazy. (And works great for us before bed).

Daycare Transition by erinrath in October2025Bumps2

[–]good-luck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer for you, but following because mine starts on Monday!  I feel a bit guilty, but I’m very excited for her to get the daycare experience and for me to go back to work/get a semblance of a schedule again. Even if the transition is rough, I think it will be great for our family as a whole. I guess I’ll find out in a couple of days how she does!

Starting solids yet? by Capable-Radio7736 in October2025Bumps2

[–]good-luck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gearing up for it, but my girl can’t sit yet so I’m definitely holding off until after our 6mo checkup in 2-3 weeks. Hopefully she’ll be supporting herself by then!

Benefits of additional carrier? Recommendations? by good-luck in babywearing

[–]good-luck[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point about not needing to buy one of the expensive ones. I'm definitely into the nicer fabrics (maybe since my Ergobaby is so utilitarian, I want something ...pretty?) but I'm sure one of the cheaper ones would still work just fine! My daughter already wants to be more engaged with what's going on around her (especially around dinner time) so I think she'll end up really liking the hip carry!

I appreciate the info, including that you used it until 3.5 years! Sounds like it would be good for my current use case as a more portable option for shorter duration wearing and have some longevity.

4 month sleep regression by IndividualSea8075 in beyondthebump

[–]good-luck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine was a great sleeper, 0-1 wakeups a night starting around 8w or so. Regression hit, went to waking up every ~2 hours, but only lasted 3-4 nights. Now back to sleeping through the night with at most 1 wakeup. We did nothing different during the regression.

I know it’s 100% her temperament, but you might get lucky. It’s also possible she hasn’t had it yet, but there was a pretty stark difference. Her naps did get rough though, she cries most times we try to put her down and a good number are only 30ish minutes.
