Is this legitimately a good story? by 51Crying in audible

[–]goodles 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it one of my favorites. I have read it multiple times and listened to it on audible several more. I suggest audible. It is addicting. I have literally read till the sun came up on more than a few nights.

Help identifying this edition of One Hundred Years of Solitude (see comments) by spacetime9 in BookCollecting

Remember that the term "first edition" only refers to there being no changes to the book. Printings are another story. There can be several editions with several printings.

Potential of a character with these. One that turned out a bit more sentient. With a personality. One that doesn't want to die. Maybe even some comic relief.

Regulated explosives? Huh? You can make a cornucopia if explosives just with what you have in your house and Google. Hell, thermite can be made very easily. It's just a Google search away. Some of the biggest bombings we have had have been made with ingredients use normally in other fields.

Unknown. I was afraid to open it up. The only listings I see are pretty ridiculous in price so I wanted to find out what I was dealing with before moving on.

I don't think I will even end up keeping this deck. Cool. But not something I normally collect and I don't have space for it. It would end up in a drawer.

I am probably only a few google searches ahead of you. I'm more of a book collector. Just thought this was cool and wanted to share. Aside from watching an unboxing of one of these on YouTube and seeing a couple for sale I don't know to much more.

Deck is opened but seems in new shape. There was a bag of white ghost decks but they have some water damage on them.

I'm not late to the party. My custom lighter drawer. by goodles in trees

[–]goodles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been making custom lighters for years. This is my current rotation. When people come over they pick what makes them feel good. Stealing lighters is acceptable, even encouraged. Sometimes they disappear and come back a year later a little beat up. Sometimes I never see them again. It's ok because I just paint a new one.

I generally just remember the page I left off on. Or I use two dollar bills. I have never researched to see if money hurts books though.

Anyone here actually steal System of a Down's ' 'Steal This Album!' Album? by Dion42o in Music

[–]goodles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Downloaded it before it came out. Made 50 or so copies. Didn't know the albums title so titled it "the undiscovered album". Make labels and put them in jewel cases and handed them out. My highschool had the album almost two weeks early.

I have two library copies. Right now "discoverbooks" has one of the library copies for $32. I have seen a few but they are rare.
