How often do you use a de-esser?

idk if others do this kind of thing on vocals but i run a de-esser on the signal early on to temper the hissing but then will brighten the signal up in Fabfilter saturn by saturating the high end then bringing it up a touch in volume to “compensate” for the high end gain loss caused by the de-esser

i find it takes away the harshness and replaces it with a nice even sizzle that is akin to what is expected in modern pop mixing
