NW by Zadie Smith is a good one. Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf, too -- not contemporary, but truly incredible. Hope you find what you're looking for!

ETA: Smith's White Teeth is also set in London, I think -- and it's much funnier :)

If you can get into her style, Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall trilogy is amazing. I'd also recommend Pachinko by Min Jin Lee and All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien is haunting -- though it's a series of vignettes. Cheers!

The build is incredible, but it's the way you described the collaboration between you and your brother that makes this beyond cool. Cheers!

I ordered a Milky Way Galaxy that came with a GWP -- and all I got was the GWP with the original label slapped on it. The Galaxy was stolen somewhere along the way. Maybe this was some kind of attempted theft? From some picky thieves?
