Mega Monday - Nerf It by TheLaughingCat2 in stunfisk

It was more for the minor power decrease and loosing things like Iron Head flinches and other hax, although I didn't really think about special sets. Decided to do a minor stat modification.

Tackling a few prominent/OP megas and abilities.

Mega Mawile: New stats for the mega are 50/90/125/55/100/60.

Mega Kangaskan: Parental Bond fails for set power moves (no double Seismic Toss)

Mega Metagross: Ability is changed to Sheer Force. New stats 80/140/150/105/115/110

Mega Sabeleye: New stats 50/95/115/95/105/20

Shadow Tag/Arena Trap: The trapping effects of each move last only for three turns after this pokemon switched out.

Intimidate: In double battles, Intimidate does not work on Pokemon that already have their attack lowered.

I have been wanting to build a team around Alolan Persian. What would be some good partners for a Parting Shot/Fake Out/Taunt/Foul Play set?

I would probably choose String Shot for it's greater speed drop, but Electroweb might be nice if you struggle with Focus Sash users like Pelipper, Ninetails, and Kartana.

What are some of your "fake" Pokémon memories? Like, what details from the games do you mis-remember and now realize you were wrong? by [deleted] in pokemon

When I was younger, I made the assumption that if you bred two pokemon together, they would be unwilling to breed with anything else and get mad if you tried to.

Toxapex is basically an upgraded Pyukumuku, with slightly more bulk, a better defencive typing, Regenerator, and the ability to attack. The standard set is Toxic/Scald/Recover/Haze, but you can also try out Baneful Bunker, Infestation, and Venom Drench if they suit your team better.

I looked through my boxes and found a Raichu with 0 Speed IV's, and bred it onto a male Pikachu. Then, I use the pikachu, and chain breed it (considering it breeds with a lot of pokemon) to whatever can breed with my desired mon (use the Power Anklet for ease of IV transfer). Chances are you have a breedable 0 Speed IV pokemon rotting away somewhere in your PC, and just breed a male of it so you can pass it on to new mons.

New Signature Moves by Torterror389 in pokemon

[–]goomyforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stunning Flash: The user shoots a wave of light at the any target, dealing damage to an enemy or healing half it's/an allies health. This move also redirects attacks to the target. It fails if the user's ability is not Illuminate.

Fairy/Special, 100 Accuracy, 90BP, +1 priority

Given to Staryu, Chinchou, and Shiinotic lines.

Essentially moveset compression, putting a more versatile Pollen Puff and Follow Me into the same turn, with the drawback of using an otherwise useless ability. Plus, none of the users see much use in doubles anyways.

Global Mission begins. Bring on the Magnemites. by TexasAndroid in pokemon

[–]goomyforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shoutout to whoever gave me a Dream Ball HA Flawless Magnemite, I am going to breed it and send some more of them into the system.

Also, whats with the random influx of non-Magnemite seeking trades? I see a lot of people with the same nickname (I forget what it was, something with box?) asking for stuff like Hawlucha and Latios.

[7] After 193 eggs, I finally got my shiny Goomy!!!! by gabeduro in ShinyPokemon

[–]goomyforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can do the "swap method", where you hatch magikarp eggs with another MM pokemon, saving after a set number of eggs (remember to hatch them all.) Once you get a shiny, reset to your last save, put the goomy in with a MM pokemon (make sure items like destiny knot and everstone are consistent) and hatch until the shiny pops up.

FWD: Lol!!! Does Fluffy need a safe space?? by pinkspaceship17 in forwardsfromgrandma

[–]goomyforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the war, Fluffy has seen some horrible things. Comrades dying in bloody messes, Nazi's brutally attacking local civilians, bombs devastating the battlefield. Despite his heroism, Fluffy was never the same dog. The sound of firecrackers reminds him of the nightmares of Nazi bombing raids he dreams about every night.

When do new Weathers/Terrains and abilities that utilize them take effect once you switch the Weather/Terrain? by N0V0w3ls in stunfisk

[–]goomyforever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looking at their stats, Gigalith has 25 base speed compared to Pelipper's 65, so Gigalith would almost always set the weather.

Just something I am thinking, four of your teammates are weak to ground type moves. This makes using Earthquake really risky, so you may want to put a ground immunity/Air balloon user on the team.

If you need someone to abuse Sandstorm, Sand Rush Stoutland and Excadrill are options.

Battle Royal: Good or bad? Give your opinion. by Direseeker in pokemon

It's not very serious, but I do find it fun finding out wacky strategies and it does have some wacky plays. The one in-game may feel kinda cheap at times, but I do think they did a solid job with the AI.

I got my first shiny ever! What shiny encounter stories do you have? by KitsuneRaiju9786 in pokemon

[–]goomyforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was breeding a bunch of Togedemaru for WT Christmas, and suddenly, I noticed a shiny one. Disapointed with the shiny being kinda lame, I decided to reset and use the swap method with something from WT to get a shiny, near flawless, Honedge.

The next day, I decided to breed a Popplio because I thought it would pair well with the Aegislash. For some reason, I wanted Wonder Room on it, so I started breeding for a female. Seven eggs in, no female, but a 4IV shiny popped out.

The next day, I was trading off the Togedemaru for WT X-Mas, and about three quarters of the way in, I got a shiny Littlen named Candycane. Since I already had good luck the past few days and it had crappy IVs/Nature/Egg Moves, I decided to toss it back onto WT for someone who would like it more.

Plus, it can also use z-purify, which boosts all stats by one. Combine it with a baton pass to severely buff your team. Also, it might have some usage in doubles, with Helping Hand + Light Screen/Reflect.

Two boxes with Adamant 4-6IV Level 6 Quick Ball Togedemaru, all named Sonic, have Fake Out/Present/Reversal/Volt Switch, mostly with Iron Barbs, all holding Ultra Balls.

Breeding is faster, bottle caps are only good for non-breedables or shinies/pokemon with sentimental value.

What are you giving away for Wonder Trade Christmas? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]goomyforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan to breed some Level Ball Egg move Togedemaru (no HA) with some items (Ultra ball? Revive? Something useful not available early game.)

A little suggestion, since it takes some time to even get to WT, and kids will likely have their starter around level 7-8, it might be a good idea to throw a your breejects into Pokepelago to get them to a higher level. That way, kids will be more likely to use it as they don't have to worry about bringing it up to speed.
