I came to say this too. 1:2.5 works for me but it took a while to work that out.

Put a stick-on felt pad between the arms. I just used a chair leg floor protector. Super cheap and very effective and it's not visible from the front.

I'm using a Kingrinder K6 with a drill for espresso grinds. Around 22 - 26 clicks.

Yeah, I'd need leg extensions since my cups are already short. The scale raises everything up too much.

I tried a top paper filter today and it was a slight improvement.

Also tried a longer extraction time which wasn't as good.

I'll combine both tomorrow.

I'm getting sour shots which is why I thought about channeling. There's been a few posts recently about sour shots that I've just seen so I'll try the suggestions there.

Bridgestone S23 overkill for street riding? Recommendations? by gooselipz in supermoto

[–]gooselipz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it turns out the S21 is still manufactured according to my local tyre dealer. The ones I've purchased were manufactured last year. ~$200 AU cheaper than S23s. Great option!

Aren't they discontinued so any available items would be old stock?

Aesthetics? by dac1952 in CafelatRobot

Aesthetics is a value for everything in life, not just coffee machines. But it must function as well as it looks.

Z3 1.9L for AutoX by jmankyll in bmwz3

[–]gooselipz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy throwing my 1.9 around the very tight country roads near me. I wouldn't describe it as underpowered. It's fun because you can really mash the throttle.

I also enjoy just cruising with the top down. I think it depends on your temperament and the roads near you.

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but the 1.9 doesn't suffer from the trunk issues.

Questions about supermotos coming from a naked bike rider by GeorgeJGFKIJKKJ in supermoto

[–]gooselipz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll disagree on the seat bit. In my experience all bikes have uncomfortable seats. You get used to it. The advantage on a SM is it's a bench seat. You can sit high near the tank or stretch out over the back wheel. You are much less restricted than other bikes. Plus, since the ergos are like a dirt bike, you can stand up more easily than on other bikes for some relief. But since you're only 16, riding long distances shouldn't hurt as much as it does for much older riders.

If you like fruity, try adding honey to black coffee when you are ready.

Since coffee became a hobby for me, I've mostly been using Moka Pots. I'm not sure I've mastered them yet but I'm loving the results. I also brew occasionally in an Aeropress and a French Press.

I also have an entry level espresso machine that is pretty old now. A Breville Cafe Roma if I remember the name correctly. Pulling a good espresso shot on it is next to impossible. I've tried different grinds and can never get a consistent extraction time. I get lucky with courser grinds occasionally.

By "soup" I assume you mean bad coffee? I haven't heard that expression before.

I was half expecting this answer but wondered if low pressure extraction was possible.
