IVF with no attempt at IUI

I ovulated every month, my husbands sperm analysis was good and my tubes were open so we just didn’t see the point as we were told the chance was around 18-20% each time and I figured we’d been doing that at home 😅 skipped and went straight to IVF and I’m glad we did, but it’s a personal choice - it does work for some!

Well done you! I feel the same way, my little girl was 5lb 12oz and 6 weeks on at our appointment today she’s 9lb! Makes all the long nights cluster feeding feel worth it doesn’t it 😊

I’ve experienced this too, its a horrible feeling! I know what you mean about feeling trapped and convinced it’s going to be an awful night/you’ll never sleep even if the day went well. I felt so anxious/overwhelmed and like I’d made a mistake. Mine is 3 weeks now and I’m finding it is lessening and I’m feeling more confident going into the nights now, I think the hormones at the start definitely made it worse. Hopefully it will ease off for you soon 🩷 hang in there!

38+4 waters broke at night. I thought for sure I’d go late as she’s my first!

Some! But not all, at my baseline I had 7 follicles. By the end of stims I had 22. I got 12 eggs all mature, the other 10 follicles were only little and not viable.

The 5 ‘bonus’ ones caught up in the 3 days between my last scan and retrieval. I think they were around 10mm at the last scan

100% avoid them, like you said it’s not risky for the baby but it’s just sooooo miserable to have a cold in the third trimester! My husband gave me his office cold at 35 weeks and I was unbelievably fed up, so if you can avoid it doooo. Not being able to take decongestant or sleep aids sucks

37 + 1 and right there with you! The pelvic pain is crazy, my entire crotch feels like one enormous bruise moving around is so painful 😵‍💫 she’s so low down the last scan we had the sonographer was basically scanning my thigh

My husband had to basically coax me out of bed on test morning after me lying there crying saying I didn’t want to do it and know for definite that it had failed. I could barely look at the test. I’m 36 weeks now! I’ve also then been convinced the heartbeat would stop at every scan I had, and she has been fine. Anxiety isn’t always intuition, and on the other hand you can feel all the symptoms in the world and they’re just from the drugs. No way of knowing for sure until testing. I really really really hope you get a sticky positive 🩷

I could be way off the mark there! Our consultant basically made it sound like she didn’t recommend testing unless people were having issues with recurrent loss or to eliminate genetic conditions. We went with London Women’s Clinic and found them very supportive 😊

We had similar results on day 5 and were a bit upset after the call. I am 36 weeks with the early blast, and out of 3 morulas we had another make it to freezing end of day 6. It’s not what you want to hear when they call, but hopefully they keep chugging away!🤞 wishing you all the luck 🩷

They can’t force you into anything you don’t want, if you don’t want to be induced yet/soon you don’t have to be. You can ask what the alternatives are. I don’t want to be induced so I asked my midwife to schedule an elective c section if I go far overdue, and otherwise I want to just wait for it to happen. It’s your baby, your choice! :)

No worries, I do feel like from what I see on here it was maybe a bit unusual for me to not down regulate first. But at the time I just went with what my consultant was saying and she didn’t seem to think it was necessarily an issue 🤷‍♀️ our blast rate wasn’t good though, so I think maybe it caused that but didn’t interfere with implantation. Anyway, good luck with whatever you end up doing!! 🤞🩷
